Exactly, that's why Pres said to try it out, and then try it out a second time to confirm (he said fridge, not freezer). The next test will be to get some humidity in to a few sticks and see how that goes. If both tests find no difference, then you can say that the storage is not an issue and would likely be the sticks themselves or maybe the smokers senses etc. Troublshooting is all about trialling different things to isolate the problem
