Wil Posted October 12, 2013 Posted October 12, 2013 Tragic. Can't imagine how the family is feeling. Peace.
AussieCanuck Posted October 12, 2013 Posted October 12, 2013 Absolutely horrible. I still don't know how he can possibly play this weekend. I've read his reasons etc but can't understand it. I would be an absolute basket case. My 18 mth old daughter is the best thing that ever happened to me. I don't know how people move on from stuff like this. Very sad.
DrunkenMonkey Posted October 12, 2013 Posted October 12, 2013 And some people are really just animals. I feel so bad for AP. As to how he can play, I think that sometimes the best way to handle grief is to throw yourself into your work as a distraction. It might be too much to handle at the moment. Routine and focusing on work can help sometimes.
finecigar Posted October 13, 2013 Posted October 13, 2013 Wow that is heartbreaking... Life is precious. RIP.... I just flew out of Sioux Falls a few days ago I am surprised I didn't hear this shocking news
AlohaStyle Posted October 13, 2013 Posted October 13, 2013 I grew up in Minnesota, am a huge Vikings fan and was just in London 2 weeks ago to watch them play the Steelers. When I heard the news I was heart broken being a father of 2 young kids myself and knowing the good person that Adrian Peterson is. No matter what, the news is terrible, but more has been learned that Adrian Peterson never actually met this son. He just recently learned of him being alive as he never was with the mother... turns out they had a fling and lost touch. The woman actually thought her old boyfriend was the father and just recently had a paternity test to show Peterson was the father. When he learned of his existence not too long ago, he took full responsibility and asked what he could do moving forward. He was planning on meeting him shortly, but sadly it will never happen. Peterson has gone through a lot personally as when he was 7 years old he witnessed his older brother get run over by a car on his bike and died right in front of him. At least this wasn't his boy that lives with him day in and day out, I couldn't imagine losing my son.
El Presidente Posted October 13, 2013 Posted October 13, 2013 There really are animals disguised as humans in this world. RIP little Fella. Condolences to the family.
madandana Posted October 13, 2013 Posted October 13, 2013 Very sad. He'll be sure to take out his anger on the field. Should be interesting to see what kind of day he has.

PaulP Posted October 13, 2013 Posted October 13, 2013 Minnesota Vikings running back Adrian Peterson met his 2-year-old son for the first time while he was on life support, TMZ reports. The football star — whose son died on Friday after his mother’s boyfriend allegedly badly beat him — learned three months ago that he had a child with a woman living in South Dakota, the site reports. The woman called him with the news after her ex took a paternity test revealing the boy didn’t belong to him — and the NFL star quickly made arrangements to meet the tot, the site reports. nypost
