kiwicrusaders Posted October 4, 2013 Posted October 4, 2013 I was wondering why you don't hear too much about this cigar. I have had about 5 or 6 of these, 1 was average (draw wasn't that good) but the rest were really really good. You often hear about the Bolivar PC, but not often the H Upmann PC. What are people's thoughts about this cigar?
ramon_cojones Posted October 4, 2013 Posted October 4, 2013 Good cigar, somewhat underrated but not by any means unpopular. I've yet to pick up a box myself though. I'd buy over bolivar for sure.
mk05 Posted October 4, 2013 Posted October 4, 2013 So many variations on the Upmann mareva vitola...I think it gets washed out from its own internal competition like RyJ marevas.
dvickery Posted October 4, 2013 Posted October 4, 2013 smoked 5 or 6 boxes ... got 5 or 6 boxes aging . personally ... a mareva I choose not to be without . I smoke more boli pc's and more monty#4's tho . derrek
kiwicrusaders Posted October 4, 2013 Author Posted October 4, 2013 Dvickery ... Do u find the Bolivar and Monte more consistent?
nikesupremedunk Posted October 4, 2013 Posted October 4, 2013 Had a couple, enjoyable but none that really stood out enough for me to want to buy a box, yet. Kind of tasted like a mini sir winnie.
SCgarman Posted October 4, 2013 Posted October 4, 2013 Has become my favorite pc of all. Have a second box on the way. The RASS robusto is my favorite cigar and the Upmann pc has similar flavor profile in a smaller format. Make no mistake this is an excellent cigar in every way. If other folks do not like them, that means more boxes for my humidor! Cheers!
melies Posted October 4, 2013 Posted October 4, 2013 Say! I like H.Upmann Petit Coronas! I do!! I like them, Kiwicrusader-I-am! And I would smoke them in a boat! And I would smoke them with a goat... And I will smoke them in the rain. And in the dark. And on a train. And in a car. And in a tree. They are so goodm so goodm you see!
SCgarman Posted October 4, 2013 Posted October 4, 2013 Just a footnote; the petit corona vitola is very consistent in terms of construction and draw, so brand name is really irrelevant. Smaller formats of Cuban cigars seem to excel over the large sticks. I have rarely ever had a plugged or severely underfilled petit corona regardless of the marca.
Smallclub Posted October 4, 2013 Posted October 4, 2013 The RASS robusto is my favorite cigar and the Upmann pc has similar flavor profile in a smaller format. Completely different profiles, at the opposite side of the spectrum…
SCgarman Posted October 4, 2013 Posted October 4, 2013 Completely different profiles, at the opposite side of the spectrum… Taste is subjective my friend. You may not taste the same flavor notes in these 2 cigars, but I do. At least some. So we will have to agree to disagree.
JimC Posted October 4, 2013 Posted October 4, 2013 Now I need box to see which they taste like. THANKS! Sent from my SCH-I545 using Tapatalk 2
Ophidion Posted October 5, 2013 Posted October 5, 2013 I have a box in transit. Bought blind from one of my fav vendors (sealed box... Living on the edge)
GoJohnnyGo Posted October 5, 2013 Posted October 5, 2013 I've been looking at these for a longtime time but never pulled the trigger. They seem to be a little more expensive than other PCs. But not buy much.
Dimmers Posted October 6, 2013 Posted October 6, 2013 I'm a fan. A 2011 box has been smoking wonderfully for me this year.
luv2fly Posted October 6, 2013 Posted October 6, 2013 Always liked these. I have smoke around 4 or 5 boxes over the years and found them to be great smokes for a good price.
Dbone Posted October 7, 2013 Posted October 7, 2013 Aged a few years it smooths out and I get a doughy sweetness, baked bread. Kinda goes Hoyo on ya. Fresh they are just hot and rough.
Charltonc Posted October 8, 2013 Posted October 8, 2013 Just ordered a box because the price was right.
