Which box?

So I am looking to pick another box to help fill up the humi. But I need help deciding on what to buy, can only afford one at the moment. So heres what I am stuck trying to decide between.

H. upmann Majestic

H. upmann royal robusto

BBF

Bolivar Petit Corona

RASS

Montecristo #5

Going to be my first *****IT purchase and second from the czar. Box with the most votes between now and when I get up tomorrow morning wins. Thanks everyone in advance for the help.

Wow, so different. Well I am more of a Monte and Bolivar kind of guy so my natural instincts point me in that direction. But I might go nuts and nab up a box of the HU RR myself so that has my vote.

The Royal Robusto is fantastic. There is a reason Rob said it's one of the better cigar coming out of Havana these days.

So, if I were you , I'd buy the RR (for an occasionnal treat) plus the Boli PC or Monte 5 or even the Majestic as everyday cigars…

I don't think a vote will get you the results of which box of cigars is right for you. You have a pretty large variation of sizes and flavors in your list. How did you narrow your choices down to these six cigars? I think you are better off smoking one before blind buying a box. I can only offer you my opinion on your choices given my experience smoking five of the six cigars you listed. I wil assume that since you said, "humi", you will probably want to be smoking from this box in the very near future.

There are only 10 in a box, so this might not be your best option if you are on a budget. With that said, these are great Robustos. I am smoking from a 2011 box now and I have a '12 box in my locker. I will proabably purchase another one or two boxes very soon.

BBF

Some people will say these need some time to balance out or improve their complexity. I have only smoked pretty fresh ones and probably less than a dozen. I am not really a Bolivar fan. While these are technically Campanias, if you like the piramide shape, the Monte #2's are a top notch choice and are about 1/2" longer than the BBF. Three weeks ago I smoked one from a Feb 13 Box of Monte #2's that I received from Czar in July. It was really good for such a young cigar.

Bolivar Petit Corona

I used to smoke a bunch of these, but I haven't in about the last three years. At some point Siglo II's became my go to petit corona and that is the only PC I consistently buy. I also smoke and store Trini Reyes, but they are a bit smaller in size than the BPC. I think the Gold Medals are the only Bolivar I truly enjoy.

RASS

Robustos are my most smoked vitola. I smoke RASS, Trinidad T's, CoRo's, HDM Epi #2 and a lot of PSD4's. I think this is a pretty versatile size for someone who will devote a lot of his storage capacity to one cigar. The Cohiba's and Trini's cost a bit more, so those may not be a good choice. I have recently smoked out of a box of '13 Epi #2's, '12 PSD4's and '12 RASS. They are all great young. While I am especially impresed with the '13 Epi #2's, given only the options on your list, I would pick RASS.

Montecristo #5

I would look to # 4's instead if you want a small Monte. I burned through a whole box of #5's recently as I smoked them while walking my dog. The #5's are just too short at only 4". The shortest cigars I usually smoke are Reyes or Mag 48's and only when it is too hot outside to enjoy a longer smoke.

Of course, this is only my opinion and may greatly differ from your opinion. Since you did list six specific cigars, maybe buying 1-4 of each cigar is the best way to "help fill up the humi"

IMO pound for pound Boli PC wins. Have never had a bad box or even a really bad stick for that matter.

I think it is common knowledge that these are among the most consistent cigars coming out of Cuba. If you're on a budget and want to increase your odds of having a reliable great smoke I would look no further than these.

Recently ordered these as my first box, so these get my vote.

Makes me seem like an ass, but I ended up going with BPC. Wasn't the winner but I'll be honest and say that's what I had my mind on the whole time, the reason I did the poll was in the hopes that BPC would be up there in front, and it did come in third. I will definitely be going with RASS though for my next box seeing how that was the clear winner.

Haven't received the box as of yet but I expect it should be here this week. I am extremely excited and will post pics as soon as they get here. My biggest problem will be trying to wait another month or so after they get here to smoke one.

Thanks for everyone's help and thoughts though. RASS have been on my radar for a while as I've had a few and really enjoyed each one, and now the HU RR is going to be in the back of my head every time I look at new boxes.
