messa Posted September 19, 2013 Posted September 19, 2013 OK, we all love Habanos, but if you have to go to a non Cuban what's your favourite? Me, anything Padron! Padron 1926 #9 Natural
riazp Posted September 19, 2013 Posted September 19, 2013 Almost anything Fuente. Especially the 858 maduro, short story, queen B, Casa Fuente, Sharks, etc... oddly enough I am not a big fan of the Opus, but that may just be because I have smoked most of them relatively young ad have not given them time to age a bit. I agree, I enjoy fuentes quite a bit as well, I smoked an anejo cant remember the name i know it was a corona gorda and it was a stellar cigar. i like the sweet profile of the queen b as well. I just wish they had more complexity
Orion21 Posted September 19, 2013 Posted September 19, 2013 Fuente Anejo hands down. When they come in, in the next couple of months, it will be my first NC box purchase in a very long time. Sometimes it's tricky finding shops that don't mark them up 3-5 per cigar.
seamus Posted September 19, 2013 Posted September 19, 2013 My new favorite is Opus petite lanceros, used to be RdCs.
nick87night Posted September 19, 2013 Posted September 19, 2013 My favorite go to non cuban is oliva serie v, rocky patel vintage 1990, alec bradley prensado torpedo, or padron 1964 exclusivo maduro!
Lant63 Posted September 19, 2013 Posted September 19, 2013 Opus x fan here, and just about any padron but cubans have ruined them for me as i feel all padrons are one note throughout the whole cigar.
Ginseng Posted September 19, 2013 Posted September 19, 2013 Padron '000, '64. Ashton VSG Tres Mystique and Illusions. Wilkey
meatball41 Posted September 19, 2013 Posted September 19, 2013 Usually its anything Tatuaje but lately I've been smoking Illisione Rothchilds like they're going out of fashion x 2 on the Rothchildes
CanuckSARTech Posted September 20, 2013 Posted September 20, 2013 Tried a few different ones over the years. Unfortunately, my palate is decidedly tuned for Cuban cigars. The only NC's that I can really stomach are the Padron Serie 1926 and the Serie 1967. Roughly only one or two of those every one or two years. So....you can see that I just don't care for NC's (palate-wise).
helix Posted September 20, 2013 Posted September 20, 2013 The rocky patel vintage 1990 is surprisingly good.
marper331 Posted September 20, 2013 Posted September 20, 2013 I'm smoking an illusione singulare phantom LE 2010 and it's not bad. I tend to lean to some of the my fathers cigars.
Habana Mike Posted September 20, 2013 Posted September 20, 2013 I'd have to say Davidoff Millenium Lancero or Tatuaje Especiales, not the Capa 7 Especial but the true long panatela
cigcars Posted September 20, 2013 Posted September 20, 2013 I've truly enjoyed almost all the Jesus Fuego 777's, Origen, Sangrie, etc. After that La Aurora Leonidas Coronitas and Chisels. And Pete Johnson's Tatuaje selections are also practically out of this world!
kuzi16 Posted September 20, 2013 Posted September 20, 2013 ive been enjoying Avo XO as of late and the Room 101 connecticut. there are a few others but CCs are what i have been purchasing as of late.
nikesupremedunk Posted September 20, 2013 Posted September 20, 2013 Only NC's I keep in my stash are Opus X's and a couple anejo sharks. I haven't had the desire to smoke them in about a year though.
AussieCanuck Posted September 20, 2013 Posted September 20, 2013 I don't mind the Olivia V Series and, I'm almost ashamed to admit it, the Nub Habano has also been known to be nubbed by me....I know, I know.....hang my head.
bresdogsr Posted September 20, 2013 Posted September 20, 2013 AF SG Chateau, JR Ultimate Cab #10 and Ortega Serie D #8 Maduro
SMQQKIN Posted September 20, 2013 Posted September 20, 2013 Opus X, Casa Fuentes, AF Anejos, Tats, & DE Pigs/Rats/9s/T52s. Haven't bought any in over a year but still enjoy one from time to time.
Habana Mike Posted September 20, 2013 Posted September 20, 2013 Oh, have to add the La Aurora Cien Anos EE Robusto Maduro - picked one up at De La Concha a few months back and after smoking it actually went deep on a 'domestic' for the first time in a long time.....
hiball99 Posted September 20, 2013 Posted September 20, 2013 I prefer Padron's, most tat's, and short story maduro. I have not smoked many nc's since discovering cc.
TiminBC Posted September 20, 2013 Posted September 20, 2013 Hard to say a favorite as my mood decides what i enjoy on any given day. I can say this I enjoy allot of cigars both CC and NC so I guess my palette is forgiving which which is ok with me The short stories are a bit of a treat for me, short and sweet although not literally. I know with scotch I eventually whittled it down to the peaty ones but the price pushed me to try some of the new Rye`s we have and I have to say not paying $128.00 a bottle for Lagavulin and instead paying $28.00 for a Forty Creek makes me a little happy. So there you have it. I have no palette and am a cheap drunk. but a happy one.
M777 Posted September 20, 2013 Posted September 20, 2013 Fuente 858's, anejos and opus x. Padron x000's for a budget smoke. I also enjoy tat brown labels with some age on them. That's about all I enjoy in the nc world. I'm still burning through my sub par nc stash and barely smoking any cc'acc's to let them age and build up count. My goal is 80% cc's and 20% nc's (been buying nothing Fuentes and pardons as far as nc's go now for about 2 years).
tmc123 Posted September 20, 2013 Posted September 20, 2013 Fuente, Tatuaje, Liga Privada and Padron are probably my favourtie NCs
Blakes Posted September 20, 2013 Posted September 20, 2013 Tried a few different ones over the years. Unfortunately, my palate is decidedly tuned for Cuban cigars. So....you can see that I just don't care for NC's (palate-wise). This. I've given up buying them now, The only time I get to smoke them is with a friend who likes the odd few NC cigars... but I usually have a few puff's give it back, Interestingly I've noticed we have a slightly different palate when smoking Cubans.. having different takes on the flavours, he seems not to pick out the sweet, mild and floral flavours as much, even when we swap cigars they're smoking the same. Also our preferences differ too he very much likes his strong full bodied Cubans such as Cohiba Genios etc.. which I don't really care for either and actually remind me of NC.
