Any recommendations?

I'm already planning a visit or two to Casa Fuente, but that's about it so far. I'm interested to find out if there are any cigar shops near the strip with less inflated prices? I don't want to venture too far off the strip though.

Btw, how is Casa Fuente pricing on their non house blends? And, how inflated are strip prices in general? Just give me a ballpark percentage. Thanks!

I'm actually in Vegas now, leaving today. I think CF prices are about 50% higher than retail or so. I don't look at the AF lower end stuff, but all the Don Carlos, Ashton, and Opus stuff is pretty much a $12-15 starting point, and up from there. They do have some Opus that's very hard to find anywhere else. Occasionally an Anejo shark, too.

Awesome! Thanks!

You didn't happen to catch the AF Short Story price did you? PM me if you like.

The prices at Casa Fuente are so high they will blow your mind. Double to triple what you will pay elsewhere. Mainly it is a place for atmosphere and getting the Casa Fuente line ($21 for the lancero last year). I can't say I go to Vegas with the idea of buying many sticks

The atmosphere isn't really much to speak of. You pretty much sit under an escalator to smoke your cigar

I just take my cigars when I travel, just sit back and sip mojitos there. Also a davidoff on the strip.

I just got back for the third time this year and usually smoke in the lounge/bar at the cosmopolitan, love that place.

The Between the Lines run $800 a box at the Casa. They claim to only sell two per person, but my Dad was there last year a bought a whole box . . . $800ish dollars. I don't know if it's a box of 25 or 30, but I think 25. That makes it $32 a cigar for the Between the Lines. The Casa Fuente Robustos I can HIGHLY recommend. They are fantastic cigars, but are also pricey. However, 100% worth it in my book. I was lucky to receive 5 CF Robustos, 5 Between the Lines and 5 Opus Petit Lanceros from my Dad's trip. The best has been the CF Robusto, then the Lancero and finally the Between the Lines. The BtL didn't do much for me.

Correct me if I am wrong, but I do not believe smoking is allowed on the CF patio any longer. Nevada passed a strict anit-smoking law that no longer allows smoking in rooms, restaurants or anywhere indoors other than the casino floor. CF is located in the Forum Shops indoors, so it may only be allowed inside the shop. Last time I was there no one was smoking on the patio. They may have enclosed the patio by now, but I am not sure.

I found smoking cigars in Vegas to be fun, but there aren't too many place that cater to cigar guys anymore. Find a nice bar inside the casino and enjoy your time.

The waitresses usually provide a good helping of atmosphere.

Keep in mind that I'm coming in from Canada folks. So, even though prices may seem very high to our American BOTL, it's really not that bad for us Canadians. $10 - 20 a stick doesn't sound half bad to me. I figured that Between the Lines would be expensive due to the rarity of the stick anyway. But, what about the more easily found vitola's like the Short Story or Best Seller?

Was in Vegas earlier this year. I preferred Casa Fuente to the Rhum Bar. I would only buy the house blend, Casa Fuente, when there however. Everything else is quite expensive. many prefer the lancero, but I really enjoy the Corona Gorda. It is the least expensive of the different sizes and I love the flavor. I highly recommend the tangerine mojitos as well. I liked them so much, I now buy the same rum and liquor they use and make my own at home.

Also, they usually have a drink special or a drink/cigar special. Last time I was out they had a red house wine on special for $5 per glass which is ridiculously cheap for Vegas and tasted pretty good with the corona gorda. They limit purchase to 2 lanceros per visit, so if you are planning on taking some home, either bring some friends or make multiple trips. There isn't a limit for any other of the casa fuente cigars although there are limits for some of the very rare, and very expensive Opuses.

There's a tobacco shop about a block away from the MGM (towards direction of the M&Ms store) which has a small walk in humidor that has a reasonably priced selection of cigars, even AF's (i possibly might have picked up my short story from there) and the prices are as reasonable as you can get while staying on the strip but still better than CF. You might as well pick up some house blends when your in town.

In terms of where to smoke, i found it best to find a quiet corner by the pool paired with some girly cocktail with an umbrella in it., in most cases, people are more tolerant in Vegas of these sought of things ....and they don't mind the cigar as much as well.
