Bolismoker Posted August 11, 2013 Posted August 11, 2013 It's true. On October the 26th of this year my girlfriend of 8 years is going to make an honest man out of me. We had been engaged for nearly 6 years and have grown tiered of answering questions about when we were getting married so we set a date. It's my second go at the rodeo her first so the little lady is getting exactly what she wants. The few pieces I have control over are the food at the reception which will be BBQ ribs, Pork shoulder and sides. Made in a professional smoker on the spot. The reception will be outdoors so there. Will be plenty of cigars being smoked. Finally, our family tradition all the men in the family will be playing golf the day of. Ill be picking up a couple of boxes of cigars to stash away as a way to commemorate the occasion. Right now I'm thinking Sir Winnies, Esplindidos, or Co 1966 but am open to other suggestions. If you guys have them.
Hafner32 Posted August 11, 2013 Posted August 11, 2013 I would look to grab a few boxes with an October 2013 box code. This way you can light one up each year to celebrate your anniversary. With recent production being excellent its a no brainer. The only thing you will need to make sure is that the cigar you choose will have legs to last over time. I think the Sir Winnies would be an excellent choice although finding a box or 2 with the exact month and year you want may be difficult Congratulations on setting the date
stargazer14 Posted August 11, 2013 Posted August 11, 2013 Congrats! Let me know if you need a photographer for the event, lots of experience, I'll give you the FOH rate, and I don't mind cigar smoke.
Habanos2000 Posted August 11, 2013 Posted August 11, 2013 All the best to you and your future wife. Regarding the cigars, IMO, you can't go wrong with a nice box of SW if you can find them. One suggestion may be to provide the Czar team with a short list of your choice of cigars and perhaps if they come across one of them with the production month and year of your wedding you could get hooked up with that?

Thanks for the offer but my sister in law is a pro photographer and the family discount is even cheaper than the FOH discount t All the best to you and your future wife. oliverdst Posted August 11, 2013 Posted August 11, 2013 Your guests smoke cigars? I would buy based on that.
zappaFREAK Posted August 11, 2013 Posted August 11, 2013 Congrats! That is a beautiful month to get married! 66s would be s great choice get them while you can!
CanuckSARTech Posted August 11, 2013 Posted August 11, 2013 Early kudos and congrats then! Well done. I love your plans already, too! LOL. I've not done the dated-box thing (for either my wedding anniversary or children's birthday), but I do concur that getting an Oct 2013 box might be a good idea to start with.
stargazer14 Posted August 11, 2013 Posted August 11, 2013 Thanks for the offer but my sister in law is a pro photographer and the family discount is even cheaper than the FOH discount Well sure, but does she smoke?....

laficion Posted August 11, 2013 Posted August 11, 2013 Congratulations are in order, you both have a great time ,cigars and all .
Jeremy Festa Posted August 11, 2013 Posted August 11, 2013 Congratulations mate! A monumental day requires a monumental smoke. All your considerations are spot on!
markmurase Posted August 12, 2013 Posted August 12, 2013 Congratulations As far as choice of cigars to commemorate your anniversary, all of your suggestions are excellent but the Sir Winnies and Cohiba 1966 are probably more consistent and smoke better young. The Esplendidos could be a bit of a lottery, unless you can get a HQ or PSP box. Sir Winnies and Esplendidos both have good aging potential. Hard to guess how the 1966's will age, because they've only been around for short time, so we don't really know. I'm sure it will be a great day.
markmurase Posted August 12, 2013 Posted August 12, 2013 Congrats! Let me know if you need a photographer for the event, lots of experience, I'll give you the FOH rate, and I don't mind cigar smoke. Payment in cigars?
CigKopf Posted August 12, 2013 Posted August 12, 2013 Congrats!! I've been dating my girlfriend for 8 years and we are getting married this year too, but in November. I've been thinking about which cigars to pick up as well, so I hope a lot of people post several suggestions lol. I really like the idea of buying a box with an October date (November for me), and smoking them each anniversary. Good luck on your big day.
livedavid Posted August 12, 2013 Posted August 12, 2013 Congrats. My wedding anniversary is also October 26th! 24th Note to self: Do not forget anniversary date.
Dara Posted August 12, 2013 Posted August 12, 2013 Congrats. My wedding anniversary is also October 26th! 24th Note to self: Do not forget anniversary date. Obviously over 2 years married !
Stanislaw Posted August 12, 2013 Posted August 12, 2013 Congratulations bolismoker! Sounds like a great plan for the big day and may you and your new bride have a long happy life together.... Considering she's cool with your cigar smoking you're half way there, heheheh....
Puros Y Vino Posted August 12, 2013 Posted August 12, 2013 Congratulations! If a QdO Imperiales box with an OCT 2013 box code will exist, go for it. Otherwise, I'd say Esplendido's, Sir Winnies or Lusitania's.
Bolismoker Posted August 13, 2013 Author Posted August 13, 2013 Thanks for all the kind words brothers. I'm a lucky man for a number of reasons, my new bride is certainly one of them. She is a tremendous step parent to my daughter, has no problem with cigars inside or outside of the house, encourages me to play golf, is a good saver, and is 6 years younger than me, and super hot. More than I can ask for or deserve. Thanks again for all the kind words.
