Orion21 Posted August 5, 2013 Posted August 5, 2013 If any of these politicians had any business or REAL world economics experience these issues would not exist to the extent they do around the world. HOWEVER, since most political models (including the USA) revolve around career politicians and their appointees tax and spend will continue. The fact that the majority of the modern world lives under a cloud of debt and future financial collapse means nothing to these blood suckers. It's simple, taxes taken from a tax payer do not participate in the money multiplier effect like they do when said taxpayer retains their money and spends money themselves. Also, when is the last time you heard of a tax being repealed because the politicians "made a mistake" implementing it??? Once a tax is put in place it's permanent. It seems the only course of action is insolvency, but then that's funded with more taxes from future generations. Quite depressing the more you think of it . . .
winelover Posted August 5, 2013 Posted August 5, 2013 If any of Once a tax is put in place it's permanent. The classic "temporary" tax is income tax which I believe was introduced in the UK to finance the Napoleonic wars.
Orion21 Posted August 5, 2013 Posted August 5, 2013 Same here in the USA for WWI, never repealed . . .
Trevor2118 Posted August 6, 2013 Posted August 6, 2013 If it gets any worse i'll be moving to Spain or pop into to see the Swiss You obviously have not been to Switzerland lately.
Deddyus Posted August 6, 2013 Posted August 6, 2013 This might be some good news (Is there any with politics these days?) if the Coalition get in. But I wont be holding my breath. http://au.news.yahoo.com/thewest/a/-/national/18356639/hockey-raises-doubt-over-tobacco-tax-hike/

CanuckSARTech Posted August 9, 2013 Posted August 9, 2013 a completely unrelated question - does anyone have a ski mask, a handgun of some sort, and a few hessian sacks I can borrow? I can help with all, except the hessian sacks. I only use burlap ones or sports bags.
