Reevzy Posted July 11, 2013 Posted July 11, 2013 I like to try different things and this is different for sure. After reading a whole bunch of rave reviews I just had to give it a go. Patron XO Cafe, coffee flavoured tequila, or is it the other way around?! More coffee than tequila but it has a little bit of a kick to it. It's pretty sweet but tastes rather nice when it really chills down over a couple of ice cubes. Definitely not something you'd drink more than a glass or two at a time, I'd say it'd just be nice every once in a while on a warm day maybe. It paired very well with the Punch petit coronations that have finally turned a corner for me and are smoking very nicely and have that nutty flavour profile that I really like about em. Hence coffee and nuts At $74 Aussie dollars a bottle I'm not really sure that I'd recommend it due to the fact that I see it as a once in a while kinda drink but that's just my take on it, it does get good reviews though
stargazer14 Posted July 12, 2013 Posted July 12, 2013 That I have not had, but I have had a taste or three of some of the finer vodka cafes. I wouldn't buy a bottle but a taste of it on rare occasion is sort of a nice treat.
Colt45 Posted July 12, 2013 Posted July 12, 2013 I've tried it and didn't really care for it. To be honest, I wouldn't drink it again. Thanks for the notes.
Rushman Posted July 12, 2013 Posted July 12, 2013 Ive tried it - its dirt cheap in the states and duty free on island, not my cup of tea, nor my cup of tequila!
Dimmers Posted July 12, 2013 Posted July 12, 2013 Big fan of XO here. yes bloody expensive in Oz, so i tend to stock up whenever travelling (or my "XO" mules are travelling).
Tino Posted July 12, 2013 Posted July 12, 2013 A while back when I worked in wine retail we were given a bottle of this as a sample, quite a lot of it found its way into morning coffees
Reevzy Posted July 14, 2013 Author Posted July 14, 2013 quite a lot of it found its way into morning coffees Haha, that could work! I'm still undecided on this stuff, it is very sweet, both my housemates loves it. I think it has lost my attention for a while and it'll make it's way to the liquor cabinet. As I said, It'll be nice in the warmer months. Although it's not going away until I've tried it in my coffee
JimC Posted July 19, 2013 Posted July 19, 2013 I like it on the rocks as a change up ocasionally. Sent from my SCH-I545 using Tapatalk 2
