cigcars Posted July 9, 2013 Posted July 9, 2013 I'm thinking of when I was reading the late, great actor, James Mason's biography. His first wife was so mean to him. He finally divorced and married an Australian actress Clarissa Kaye who was great to and for him in his latter years. Then his father was interviewed and asked if he'd ever pondered divorce. He remarked, "Divorce? Never. Murder...often."
anacostiakat Posted July 9, 2013 Posted July 9, 2013 Reminds me of the old one about the kid who always wanted to marry a girl just like married dear old dad! He found the perfect match and brought her home to meet dear old dad. Dear old dad didnt like her. .. . . .

CanuckSARTech Posted July 9, 2013 Posted July 9, 2013 I may somewhat be in the minority here, but I think that a good chunk of those who whine and moan about divorce are only upset at their own faults. Granted, there are plenty of times when divorce is for good reasons, and it's not necessarily planned or expected by either party. However, a lot of the guys I know around here are bitter when it's plain as day to many around them that they should have either picked a better spouse (sometimes it can be seen from afar), or had a good pre-nuptual agreement in place, or just been a bit more cordial in the divorce process to not foster resentment. Granted, I'm looking at it a bit through rose-coloured glasses, in that I'm in a happy and healthy marriage with a wonderful wife. But a lot of guys I know who ***** about divorce have reaped the negative aspects because of their own callous or malicious actions, or their own shortsightedness.
Squarehead Posted July 9, 2013 Posted July 9, 2013 Now, where did I go wrong with over 47 years of marriage?
Marker Posted July 9, 2013 Posted July 9, 2013 Now, where did I go wrong with over 47 years of marriage? Nowhere. Congratulations.
canadianbeaver Posted July 10, 2013 Posted July 10, 2013 I have this joke about being called the "blue widow". My next husband is going to be very very rich and very very old. On our honeymoon I am going to give him so much viagra he will pretty much drop dead in bed. Boom.
asmith Posted July 10, 2013 Posted July 10, 2013 My next husband is going to be very very rich and very very old. On our honeymoon I am going to give him so much viagra he will pretty much drop dead in bed. Boom. There is Exhibit A when his children from his first marriage are contesting the will.
Marker Posted July 10, 2013 Posted July 10, 2013 The first marriage is only the starter one anyway Is 18 years too far into your starter marriage? Am I wasting time here?
