1st Day of retirement

Recommended Posts

Congratulations!

Was planning on early retirement later this year but am undecided as things are going well at the office. I figure once you reach retirement age (early or full) you can go any time you want. thumbsup.gif Still a little undecided on how long to keep working.

31 years and counting at the same firm.

Congrats on your retirement.

This past monday I retired 3 years ago after 50 years of working but work now partime for a year now as a courier for a network of cardealerships and I enjoy every minute of it.

First day of retirement today after 40 years with the same company.

Not sure the my kids will be able to say that with today's economy.

Got up a little later than usual, ( harder to do than you might think)

Nice day so had a coffee and read the morning paper out on the patio.

Finished a CORO, it was excellent.

Never had time for a weekday morning paper or smoke before.

Looking forward to this next stage in my life.

If retired, what was your first day like.

If not retired, do you have a plan?

Congratulations Murri - 40 years, wow!! You don't hear such a long tenure at work every day and I believe there's no job in any country or economy that lasts so long THESE days.. :(

Well there is a plus side to this... You can read the Formula 1 thread! ;):)

Enjoy the cigars and hard earned rest.

I'm green with envy and I'm only a little over half as old as you were at the company :P I love the notion each day of retirement becomes more enjoyable.. I'd keep myself busy but I wouldn't be focussing on a part time or casual job to do it. It'd be hobby and passion time for me :P

Congrats on the retirement. I am eligible to retire now but working a little longer say a few months. when I do I will find another job doing something maybe part time. I can't sit still long enough to just retire and a man can only take so many bike trips. I will be getting out of this city that's for sure...
