Bolivar Belicosos Finos

Recommended Posts

Hello everyone,

I just wanted to give my personal review of the Bolivar Belicosos Finos.

I just received these babies a couple days ago and they have been sitting in their personal humidor since these cigars have a strong smell I keep them away from other cigars.

The first part of the review is the overall construction. it may be hard to view from this Camera photo (sorry HD pic is too large for a better quality) but the construction is just magnificent and the aroma lifted me off my feet and sent me towards the Humidor. the smell of Cedar surrounded the Cigar.

As everyone knows lighting is the first step of smoking any cigar, but with this cigar during the lighting process the flavor was already beginning with a Mild spice at the foot with flavorful coffee this continued during the first third of the cigar. in the entrance of the second third of the cigar coffee remained but the mild spice became more full and became a medium to full bodied spice flavor as sweet notes of chocolate began to enter this cigar. The beautiful ash stayed perfectly attached to this cigar without interfering with the draw or the combustion of this well made habanos. during the end of the second third and entry to the finale the ash finally decided to fall down but none the less the beautiful taste of Full spice finally overpowered the flavor of the cigar, but in the last draw before I let it rest in piece in an ash tray I tasted a smooth flavor of Coffee, Chocolate, and mild spice yet again. it was a perfect end of this wonderful cigar.

Thank you for reading this review.

you know. I thought the same thing when I re-read my post before posting. but to me these Bolivar Belicosos Finos is one of those Cigars that you'd smoke every once in a blue moon for special occasions (not made of money, kind of wish I was though) I always smoke one from every all of CC's I receive after a week for quality control. as for my next trick I will lock the Humidor I hold these cigars in and try to lose the key until the 4th or something. lolrotfl.gif

Sounds like you got a typical boli. Coffee, earth, a little chocolate and creaminess sprinkled with white pepper/ spice. I just had another from my early 12' box of which are almost gone cuz they're so good and it had the same awesome flavor. Nice review of an awesome smoke .

olotti, str8dog, and dicko,

Yeah, I know these could be gauged at a 2:30 - 3:00 hour smoke but if you truly have time it is worth the commitment. those cigars were actually my first Habanos I smoked at a LCDH down in Mexico. I literally felt like I was floating to my humidor when I dared to open it up. just such a divine aroma to them. I know these aren't the 'best' Habanos out their, but for my budget they are the best that I can afford yet I feel it is one of Habanos's top of the line.

2:30-3:00 hours to smoke a BBF? Maybe I need to slow down. Usually it's about a 90 minute smoke.

Cigarlover, don't worry about what others might think as to what cigars are " the best." as long as you enjoy and are excited about what you have in your humidor, that's all that matters! Cigars don't have to be expensive or rare to be a treat.

Eh, it probably because I was socializing didnt draw as much as a I usually nor did I do an official time and Ptowncigar you are absolutly right. I am very excited about these BBF'S in my Humidor and feel it is the best cigar.

I also like these fresh, but I have a cab from 09 that closed down for years and had one last week and it was outstanding. Much more together and flavorful. Creamy smooth and re sparked my interest in these in an aged form.

Well that is what I like about this forum. Everyone has the right if their own opinion about cigars and the more I discuss about my flavors of cigars the more enlightenment that I recieve from the fellow members of this board. I would like to thank everyone for their input and view on the BBF and other cigars posted in this thread.

Yesterday I smoked my first stick from my new BBF (may2011).... excellent....coffee, chocolate and same of earth and pepper.

I love BBF. I have 24 resting in my humidor yet.

Very good cigar!

BBF is a staple in my humidor. I always have some in my humi and a few boxes aging. Usually around 60 mins to smoke through one for me. Recent production has been absolutely stunning!

thanks for the review! I had my first BBF last week in Cuba. Although it was a nice cigar overall, I wasn't exactly impressed. I'm not yet completely versed in all the 'proper/universal' language used to describe cigar tasting, but the best way to describe the experience is that it left a sort of 'dryness' on my tongue (which I didn't like) with not much flavour to go along. Hopefully that was just the one cigar

Just received my first BFF box Saturday. They are very fresh Feb 13!

Will wait a couple of months before trying one.

Really love the BRC's hope the BFF is just as good.

Though it was probably just that cigar they just aren't that flavorful to me. I don't think I've ever been impressed by a boli, except the german lancero but I haven't had one of those in awhile and don't know if they're as good as I remember.
