JohnLeupp Posted May 6, 2013 Posted May 6, 2013 Good point on the Lusi's. The SLRs have an opposite effect, only being available in 50 cabs. That is a big impediment. Agree with other posters on recent Punch DCs. They have been awesome.
DrunkenMonkey Posted May 6, 2013 Posted May 6, 2013 I don't know. If I know that I like a cigar, I'd always rather buy it in 50 cabs. Gives me a much better chance of tasting them with some age. And you can always buy singles.
nikesupremedunk Posted May 7, 2013 Author Posted May 7, 2013 I bought the 10 pack of Lusi's just because I didn't want to invest in them without trying the others first. I hope I like the SLR because it would be easier to age the 50 cab. Then again, I can buy 2 25 boxes of other marcas... 1
jrb5783 Posted May 8, 2013 Posted May 8, 2013 Smoked a punch DC this week and ill be getting some hoyo DCs in next week so ill make a judgement after that.
thechenman Posted May 9, 2013 Posted May 9, 2013 Party Lusi all the way. Can't be beat in my opinion...whether it's young or old. If you like a nice mild smoke though, you can't go wrong with the HDM DC.
mk05 Posted May 10, 2013 Posted May 10, 2013 SLR have been smoking well fresh and who does not love the aged ones. RA are very good too and good price. I had a fantastic cab of 04 lusis. Can we ask management to change your handle to I<3SLR
LGC Posted July 15, 2013 Posted July 15, 2013 SLR DC, RAG, and VRDA.... age needed on all (provided the blend is right).
Andrew11 Posted July 17, 2013 Posted July 17, 2013 Only had the Partagas and Hoyo. Partagas gets my vote, Hoyo is just to mild for my tastes.
Duxnutz Posted August 10, 2013 Posted August 10, 2013 SLR DC. Hope it's not getting canned. If this was available in 10s there might be hope.
seamus Posted August 10, 2013 Posted August 10, 2013 Would be hard for me to pick between SLRs and the Luci. Both benefit from lots of age.
jimb2u Posted August 11, 2013 Posted August 11, 2013 PS Luci's are always in my rotation but I have a great box of Punch DC's that I have been enjoying so much, I made some room in my long term storage for Jim
stogieluver Posted August 26, 2013 Posted August 26, 2013 Have some Lusi's and Hoyo's that I received a couple of months ago. Ordered especially for football season because they will last just about an entire game. I hope they've had enough rest from the long trip. Gonna have to flip a coin to see which one will be the first to burn. Looking forward to firing up the first one Thursday night for my Ole Miss Rebels playing their first game of the season against the Vanderbilt Commodores. I am ready for some football!

I'm not ready to let go of summer but not too upset about football season closing in fast. Not too many DCs left in my immediate future unless I'm indoors. Go Giants!
PartagasIV Posted August 29, 2013 Posted August 29, 2013 Slight personal showdown...bringing 08 VRDA, 08 Lusi from 10-ct, 07 Hoyo DC out fishing this next week...hoping the good catches won't taint my results but can't promise.
seamus Posted August 30, 2013 Posted August 30, 2013 I need to revisit Hoyo DCs. I always find them lacking and wish I reached for a Lusi or SLR.
Troels Posted September 10, 2013 Posted September 10, 2013 Why is it that this post is always in "new content" despite the latest post is often weeks old?
CanuckSARTech Posted September 10, 2013 Posted September 10, 2013 Why is it that this post is always in "new content" despite the latest post is often weeks old? Votes. As soon as someone votes on a particular thread, even though there's not a new post, that thread gets bumped / refreshed again.
Troels Posted September 10, 2013 Posted September 10, 2013 I see - thanks for clearing that :-) had puzzled me why this and the post about humidor set ups kept coming up, but that explains
CanuckSARTech Posted September 27, 2013 Posted September 27, 2013 It all depends..... Rob.... Which one is our blind tasting cigar # 5?????
