potpest Posted October 4, 2013 Posted October 4, 2013 the HDM DC was one of the first cigars i smoked and i remember loving it at the time, but can't remember what it was like apart from that... The Party Lusi single I had was loveley in the 1st half but I lost interest after, however I have a 2012 box i'm planning on smoking over the next few years to build an opinion. Just smoked an SLR DC and enjoyed it but found it very similar to the Serie A, not a bad thing but wasn't expecting so much similarity...
Armaniac Posted February 12, 2014 Posted February 12, 2014 I voted for the PUNCH D.C, Because It is wonderful at the moment (recent production ), Barre none !!!!!!! This
ag794516 Posted February 12, 2014 Posted February 12, 2014 I like the Lusitanias because it is the only I have been smoked yet. It was a good box. I am very interested in the SLR because many are writing about it. The truth is, that I can't really get them. So my asking for you Rob! If you get a good one please tell. Also you can make another review of DCs please. Thanks.
bassman Posted February 12, 2014 Posted February 12, 2014 Have to give a belated shout out to the RAG. My 08s were totally bland when fresh, but are tasting great now. Almost as good as the SLRs.
FireDigger Posted February 12, 2014 Posted February 12, 2014 Partagas Lusitania is the king for me. Sometimes it's funny how the best smokes come from the most unlikely sources. What got me started with the Lusi was a cardboard 3-pack I got from a grey market vendor. All three were just out of this world. From there, I got a box of 25. They were good also, but not as great as the 3-pack.
Rye Posted February 13, 2014 Posted February 13, 2014 Another vote for Lusi. Both my 2008's and my 2012's are smoking great.
nikesupremedunk Posted February 13, 2014 Author Posted February 13, 2014 I never got around to writing full reviews for each DC but they were all enjoyable. I don't have an absolute favorite, but if it came down to a box purchase I will probably go with the lusi's. Would love to stock a few of each though without buying a 25-50 count box.
earthson Posted December 17, 2014 Posted December 17, 2014 The Ramon Allones Gigantes is the perfect choice for me - an excellent junction of price, complexity, quality, and ageability. 1
joeypots Posted December 17, 2014 Posted December 17, 2014 They are all good. Cuba does the DC like nobody's business. If Rob says the Hoyo DC is on and good young, I'd go for it.
ramon_cojones Posted December 17, 2014 Posted December 17, 2014 I don't know man I think DCs are cuba's weakest link but they are improving. Best I've had was a rag and current lusis are pretty good. Looking forward to trying a recent hdm and slr. Don't got no love for punch.
dangolf18 Posted December 19, 2014 Posted December 19, 2014 Cuban DCs are just too mild in my opinion. That said, I'd say my favorite is the Punch DC, followed by the Lusitanias, and HDM DC.
tippexx Posted December 20, 2014 Posted December 20, 2014 and honestly don't remember too much except it was decent. I think that about sums it up for me too because the opportunities to smoke one are so few and far between that comparisons become almost impossible. I voted for the Punch on the strength of it being the last one I smoked.
DonPaolo Posted December 22, 2014 Posted December 22, 2014 ALL DCs are great Cigars (IMHO the best Format). But my Favorite is the Punch DC. 1
spicycorona Posted February 22, 2015 Posted February 22, 2015 I didn't vote because I've only had a handful of Lusis, app. '10. They're good cigars. But not strong enough. I have two left so hopefully this summer I'll see how they aged.
CigarEnthusiast Posted February 22, 2015 Posted February 22, 2015 The real question is why DC for winter???
stunod Posted April 22, 2015 Posted April 22, 2015 The Partigas Luci's are smoking unbelievable. I think even better than he Sir Winnie"s. Luci"s to me are smoking the best right now.
elam370 Posted April 24, 2015 Posted April 24, 2015 Lusitanias I've found much more enjoyable than the Punch although none of them are particularly bad. The VR DA is very interesting and surprisingly pleasant although not talked about often and my recent RA Gigantes have been absolutely ace. I need to try the hoyo and SLR. 1
samuelsmithbeer Posted May 8, 2015 Posted May 8, 2015 I've really enjoyed the Bolivars. The few I've smoked had great flavor. Like most here it seems a DC is just so much cigar to smoke. Had a Lusitania on Sunday. Took most of my afternoon it seemed and left me burnt out from wanting to smoke anything else that day.
atlharp Posted May 8, 2015 Posted May 8, 2015 I love Lusitania's and RA Gigante, but a VR Don A. is probably the best DC I have had. Anything Robaina is wonderful. 1
nick2021 Posted May 9, 2015 Posted May 9, 2015 I love Lusitania's and RA Gigante, but a VR Don A. is probably the best DC I have had. Anything Robaina is wonderful.. Have a couple of the Don A resting, may need to pull one out next month
treberty Posted July 27, 2015 Posted July 27, 2015 I think they are all great... DCs are the best that Cuba has to offer, IMO. But I have a preference for the Lusi and lately the RAG. I'm a sentimental guy!
NCPANTHERZFAN Posted July 28, 2015 Posted July 28, 2015 I have a box of VR DA's on the way. Heard a lot of great things. I will soon find out!
DropTopDee Posted July 28, 2015 Posted July 28, 2015 Out of HDM DCs, Lusis and SLR DC, HDM has been the best by far. ive gotten nothing from two Lusis, maybe smoked a SLR too early but the HDM was great. 1
DoubleDD Posted July 28, 2015 Posted July 28, 2015 I'm enjoying the recent RAGs. My Punch DCs are lackluster and are down for a long sleep. The Lusi is by far my favorite followed by the RAG then HdM. I have yet to try a new SLR and I've never had a VR Don.
