Ok my Cuban heeled RM Williams are due for replacement. I love those boots but 10 years and 5 day a week wear has seen them reach the end of their lifespan.

looking for an ankle boot. Tough. Good looking. Comfortable.

Couple of Questions for the Boot Masters out there

1. What brand of boots do you recommend.

2. What hide or leather is both comfortable, good looking, tough wearing (ostrich/Snake/Stingray/etal).

Any other hints ok.gif

I have a boot fetish. Don't get me started.

Are we talking cowboy, desert, Blundstone? Can you be a little more specific ?

Another pair of RMs? Or buy two pairs and you won't need to go shopping again until 2033...

If it ain't broke..

Why not another pair of RM Williams?

I bought a pair when I was in Oz a few years back and they are some of the best made, most comfortable boots I've owned.

Good Luck!

I don't think these are the same kind of boots I am a kin to........

Do you have Ecco boots down under? I've had outstanding luck with those. Tough as nails, look great, just as comfortable in the office as they are in the field. Not the best for sub zero temps, but I doubt you have to worry about that too much in Oz. :)

Cheers,

Greg

The RM Williams are great and Australian made!

But if you are looking to change things up a little, which your post suggests, in no particular order, check out:-

1. Mr Hare. Their Desert Boots are timeless

2. Visvim everything on there is the awesomest

&

3. Redwing Beckman Chukkas

Which come in an antique "cigar" leather which is very fitting

Found here :-

P.S. Harrison's on Racecourse Road stock Ecco and some other cool ankle boots.

What's wrong with a pair like one of your Aussie mates had in Cuba?

I didn't know there was even such a thing for guys to wear. I literally had to google "cuban heel boots"

(I want to go on record that I believe you are using the term boot pretty liberally!)

First came up pictures of turn of the 19th century pioneer women wearing something similar. I'll discount it as a mulligan.

Then this came up. Seriously guys????? Seriously???? Rob, please don't......

There is an 8 Inch boot available which is the only boot I wear. They are harder to get out of the US but

I always move heaven and earth to get a pair when required they are that good.
