Strada Posted March 19, 2013 Posted March 19, 2013 Very nice pick ups Wes. Looking forward to reviews of the Du Dauphin and Du Roi...love those sticks
gersonmorelli Posted March 19, 2013 Posted March 19, 2013 Check Emirates Towers as well (LCDH )..I found that no one knew of any aged stock untill I found it myself ..at all stores most of all the airport. those 03 Partagas seemed to have by passed me , glad you found them though. The Bolivar RE UAE, I must have checked at least 20 box's and gave up on them, did not like construction. My advice to you is if you see something you like even in a five pack buy them then and there, I missed out on some really nice des Dieux simply because I was chasing a box. I also limited myself to two box's at Jumeirah beach residence becuase I wanted to see what the other stores had.....we have to pay hefty duty on any more than three cigars in Australia so I was stretching it. So check LCDH at Emirates towers off Sheik Zayed rd..is a train stop very close by..or I found cab fares in Dubai very resonable. Good luck I hope this helps. Tks westg. That's very helpful. I got the last box of the Partagas SdC 2 at the Duty Free but also saw one box at JBR LCDH. I also noticed that the Bolivar RE didn't look great, I had to check several boxes to find a decent one. Tomorrow I'll check out Emirates Tower LCDH.
riazp Posted March 19, 2013 Posted March 19, 2013 Exellent pickups mate. Those dip 1s look out of this world.
AndrewNR Posted March 19, 2013 Posted March 19, 2013 I'm a little confused about the caution.. I'd believed the duty free allowance was a weining gesture on private imports and anything over that was just another government fiasco disguised as a tax business transaction.. What cautioning did you require law abiding citizen? Regardless.. Glad you got them in tax free.

Several planes had landed within minutes of each other and the line ups were massive. The woman who looked at my declaration rang her supervisor and that person told her to let me go with a caution and that was it. I really think because of the rush and large amount of people they just could not be bothered . Lucky I guess. Well over the three cigar duty free limit.
Duxnutz Posted April 3, 2013 Posted April 3, 2013 Check Emirates Towers as well (LCDH )..I found that no one knew of any aged stock untill I found it myself .. Great shop and quite close to Dubai Mall. I've been here before and uncovered the only LGC's (entire MDO line) i've ever seen in the wild, pity they only had the Inmensos this time. Few things i found: Must have had some more Des Dieux hiding somewhere as they had several of these from '02 hanging out yelling "Buy me!" ERDM Grandes Espana ERDM Tainos ('02) - Super fragile wrappers but couldn't resist 10 yr old cigars i'll probably never see in the wild again. Cohiba Esplendido ('06) and Coro Punch Super Selection #1 and #2 - My all time favourite smokes. Made all shopping i had to endure at the mall worthwhile!
gurman Posted April 3, 2013 Posted April 3, 2013 Soon will be here. Arrival/departure - terminal 2. As I understand Dubai Duty Free has 2 Casas - one in Terminal 1 and another in Terminal 3! So is it possible to visit at least one of them?
khamy Posted April 3, 2013 Posted April 3, 2013 nice dodge of the bullet West. Flashing the pearly whites must do you the world of good for some of the ladies in Australian Customs.

So is it possible to visit at least one of them? The terminals are all connected. You'll be able to visit both. The one on Terminal 1 is much larger and has a better selection. But if you have time it's worth visiting both.

lemmiwinks Posted April 3, 2013 Posted April 3, 2013 Nice haul and always a bonus to the get through without the duty charge.
