I've been smoking non cuban's as my every day smoke, saving my cc's for "special" occassions. Now that I've started smoking cc's, I'm finding more and more "special" occassions, such as Monday nights, Friday afternoons, weekend athletic events on tv, etc etc. LOL. This practice is going to break me! So, I'm looking at "budget priced" cc's. I saw some discussion a few weeks ago where some of you liked Piedra's and some of the other cheaper brands for your everyday smoke.

Would these cheaper cc's be better smokes than budget priced non cc's? I suspect I already know the answer, but just want some confirmation and thoughts on the following:

Piedra Nacionales, Cremas, or Conservas

Quintero Nacionales

Por Larranaga panetalas are my go-to cheap and cheerful

This is the same answer I would give. I also like partagas corona senior, although they are a tad pricier.

My favorite budget smokes are PL Panatelas and RG Panatelas Extras. For a bit more money you could go for some Upmann Half Coronas. I'd stay away from Jose Piedra, I've never like any of the examples that I have tried. Quintero Favoritos are dirt cheap and I have just found a source for them and am looking forward to trying them.

I like the H. Upmann Regalias and Epicires for budget smokes

Also like with the Partagas Petit Coronas Especiales

The Quintero Breva that I smoked a couple of months ago was a good ciagr for the $$.

PS: You may want to look around in the cheap and chearfull section. There is some good info in there.

H. Upmann Majestic, very affordable good cigar that is much better than most NCs. My favorite budget stick at the moment.

In this price range I prefer the Hoyo Palmas Extra which has a "cleaner" taste, and the Partagas Mille Fleur.

While not really "cheap", Partagas shorts are a great smaller relatively affordable cigar. They can be had in dress boxes of 25 and wooden cabs of 50 and they are spot on consistent in construction, IMO.

PL Panatelas..but back in 2010 I bought alot of JLP Nacionales that are smoking quite nice actually, to my great surprise.

The only JLP I enjoyed was Cazadores. Give it a try, good budget smoke IMO

Nacionales & Cremas are just raw cuban tobacco

Geo, how are the H. Upmann Regalias? How do they taste/smell? Ive been looking at these for my everyday cigar and one I can share with non experienced cuban smokers.

+1 on the Palmas extra. Just picked up another box to replace the box that's almost gone. At $3.50 a stick you can't go wrong
