Vitola...changes in preference.

I'm finding my taste is changing from a 50 rg robusto to the pc's, which is surprising to me for some reason. I always thought a "real" cigar had to be 49/50 rg. Maybe its the advertising. I don't know.

I think I read somewhere that more experienced smokers prefer smaller ring gauge cigars to the current rage in large ring gauge cigars. I just received my latest order of 25 sampler of petite coronas from Oz and have just smoked two (Cohiba II and a BPC). I couldn't stand to wait to try them so I gave in to temptation and am glad I did. These things are fantastic and they only rested for 24 hours.

I think I'm now hooked on pc's and smaller ring gauge sticks.

Do you find you stick with a vitola for an extended period of time, get tired of it and switch, or just mix it up depending on the time/situation?

Was strictly a robusto fan and decided to try petit coronas because of the good reviews and cheaper price for a box. And have grown to love em, 42 ring is a nice size and a petit corona will last at least an hour just like a robusto if you take your time with it. Now I smoke both mostly robusto and petit coronas and really do not care for anything else. With exception to the even shorter Trinidad Reyes and Partagas shorts which are both great 45 minute cigars.

If I never smoked anything larger than a 42 RG, it wouldn't bother me one bit. I don't agree with the opinion that more tobacco necessarily equates with more flavor or complexity.

Coronas are the perfect size for me in smoking time, comfort in hand and mouth. PCs for shorter smoking time and Lonsdale types for longer summer smokes.

I own and smoke mostly robustos and pc's, but have lately been really enjoying corona gordas. It's summer here so the longer smoke is good.

I was a robusto+ kind of guy until I discovered PCs and Coronas - now I am an avid thin gauge smoker It also had a lot to do with my transition to almost exclusively CCs.

I'm a fan of anything 40-46 RG. That size just feels right.

I'm still a bit wary of 42 ring guage and under since 2000 when a lot of Havanas at those sizes were rolled far too tightly. I like 46 to 54, but have had a few good 42 rg recently so maybe I should give them a secound chance.

Once upon a time a long time ago I found PC's practically sacrilegious for me. Nowadays, and particularly after being exposed to the comments and recommendations on these forums...I LIKE PC'S NOW! And that's primarily because I just don't have or feel up to the two hours or more it takes to sit down for a DC or a Churchill smoke anymore. I don't even have or take the time for my previously beloved torpedos or pyramides sizes anymore. My, how I'VE changed!

My preference is 40 to 54. I have had great cigars in all those sizes. I typically am drawn to the 46 to 50 RGs. However, the variation in RGs keeps things interesting for me. It is great to open up the humidor and select the cigar based on the time you have or the weather conditions. Variety is the spice of life for me.

Minutos, PC's, Coronas and Lonsdales for me so 42 is the RG I love

I prefer 38-46 RG but still enjoy the odd robusto or piramide. 42 is about perfect.

My favorite sizes at the moment are pc's and robustos. Love panetelas as well.

As of late It's been PC or minuto. I love a solid 45 minute to 70 minute smoke. Cheers!

I am all over the place... since mid November I have been on a DC binge. In the last week or so, I've started reaching for the skinny's again... PC, lancero, ect. Variety is part of the fun in this hobby for me...

My preference is Corona Gorda, definitely my favorite size and a great mix of flavor, hand and mouth feel, smoking time allotment, etc. I'll go up to 52 for a nice pyramid in the summer or down to a PC in the winter or if I don't have a lot of time. For me a lot of factors decide which size I go for but big rg are not for me, I can't get them to burn evenly even if I did like them.

You should try Fundadores and Lanceros.,If you love small ring gauges, these are a must

as I've grown as a cigar smoker, I have been moving towards larger ring guages and I find them to be more consistent and complex actually. fwiw
