Joker Posted January 29, 2013 Posted January 29, 2013 Over the last few days I have had a SLR Series A & RJ Belicosos, which had an underlying 'metallic' flavour to them. Needless to say they were not as enjoyable as the ones I have had in the past (same boxes) Is my palate changing or are the cigars going through their 'sick period' ? Has anyone experienced anything similar? Thanks in advance for any comments / advice Joker PS I had a HDM Epi 2 recently which restored my enjoyment in smoking cigars - nuts &cream - fantastic!!
Diamondog Posted January 29, 2013 Posted January 29, 2013 Any of that is possible, any number of things can influence how a cigar is tasting, food, drink, health, medicine, palate changing, humidor conditions, sick period, bum sticks hard to say, sampling more over time tells the tale
stargazer14 Posted January 29, 2013 Posted January 29, 2013 Metallic taste? Sounds like YOU may be about to go through a sick period! Good news is the cigars are fine.
Pilgrims Posted January 29, 2013 Posted January 29, 2013 Without wishing to sound weird have you had an pine-nuts recently? There is a type of them that gives you an awful metallic taste
bassman Posted January 29, 2013 Posted January 29, 2013 Hard to pinpoint. How old are the cigars? They could be going through a sick period- or it could be palate fatigue, food or allergies, or your cigar taste may be changing. For many years SLR Serie A was one of my favorites. The past few years they are really nothing special to me- even the ones left from my 03 cab that I used to like so much.
iamphilzone Posted January 29, 2013 Posted January 29, 2013 I had a box of Monte #2's 2011 same acrid metallic taste. Next box same year were great.
Dbone Posted January 30, 2013 Posted January 30, 2013 Metallic taste? Sounds like YOU may be about to go through a sick period! Good news is the cigars are fine. Just what I was thinking
