Ken Gargett Posted January 9, 2013 Posted January 9, 2013 139 kilo reticulated python at the 'australia zoo' (steve irwin's place for non-aussies). named atomic betty, they consider it more dangerous than any of their poisonous snakes or crocs etc. 6.5 metres long and apparently would be quite happy to snack on a keeper. they feed it four 25 kilo goats a year - didn't say if they were alive or dead. and it is still a youngster. could get a lot bigger.
Dara Posted January 9, 2013 Posted January 9, 2013 She must be watching her weight, she used to get 10 goats a year!
stunod Posted January 9, 2013 Posted January 9, 2013 Ken, if you had one of those as a pet, no one would even notice the spiders.
Cohiba Stevie Posted January 9, 2013 Posted January 9, 2013 I take it they chop up the goat? i know snakes can swallow large animals but i also know if they eat something too large it restricts their movement making them vulnerable to predators. Not that he has any predators in a zoo.
Habanos2000 Posted January 9, 2013 Posted January 9, 2013 That keeper in the front is sure keeping a close eye on the head!
