kidmac Posted January 7, 2013 Posted January 7, 2013 Looking for help on why these marks are on the bands?? Only one cigar from the box of 10 has these marks....
CaptainQuintero Posted January 7, 2013 Posted January 7, 2013 Could be a few things like ink smudges on the press or oil coming through from the cigar. Certainly nothing to worry about, if anything the latter means you have some top quality tobacco!
Habanos2000 Posted January 7, 2013 Posted January 7, 2013 Maybe we have a print expert on the board that really knows, but in my layman opinion I would think it has something to do with the gold embossing during the printing. Maybe something got too hot and caused that to occur.
kidmac Posted January 7, 2013 Author Posted January 7, 2013 Thanks captain... It is a psp box and it taste just fine...
bobmirko Posted January 7, 2013 Posted January 7, 2013 This usually happen if you get water on the band

OZCUBAN Posted January 8, 2013 Posted January 8, 2013 Hi all I am am a printer and to me it doesn't look like anything involved from the actual printing process,it does have the hall marks of scuffing or rubbing, combined also with what may be oils from the cigar and possible oxidation Just my 2 cents worth Cheers

I totally agree. I also wanted to mention Oz that the article about print resolution and color separation from Nino here and on Facebook was terrific! In Canada we do not use the terms AM/FM so that was very interesting! Also, the traditional offset printing press has pretty much disappeared from many shops, like the one I use. The last 6 station press we had even used disposable plates, which I am sure you use too. So what would a digital printer be? AM? I have not checked it lately - I confess my print jobs are mostly drop shipped.
