dangolf18 Posted November 24, 2012 Posted November 24, 2012 Wondering what your guys' thoughts on what clothing best repels cigar smoke. I was thinking perhaps linen and wool might not take in the cigar smell. I know most smoking jackets are made of silk, but no one really wears them. Thanks.
Hazza Posted November 25, 2012 Posted November 25, 2012 Why wear clothing at all I think there's a seperate forum for nudists/cigar lovers

Eltoasto Posted November 25, 2012 Posted November 25, 2012 I say, smoke a good cigar and where it proudly
Colt45 Posted November 25, 2012 Posted November 25, 2012 Besides silk, the only material I've found that won't smell is smooth leather.
Justmi Posted November 25, 2012 Posted November 25, 2012 Why not focus on ventilation or air purifiers instead?

I think smoking jackets are traditionally made of velvet.
anacostiakat Posted November 25, 2012 Posted November 25, 2012 Why wear clothing at all Just remember! Don't cook bacon while your naked.
Drguano Posted November 25, 2012 Posted November 25, 2012 Why we don't sit around naked smoking cigars during the winter in Minnesota: http://www.toomanymornings.com/wp-content/uploads/2010/01/tongue-stuck-to-pole.jpg
Ophidion Posted November 25, 2012 Posted November 25, 2012 Coat yourself in olive oil then scrape it off when you are done.
laficion Posted November 25, 2012 Posted November 25, 2012 Why wear clothing at all I like the smell of cigars !!!!!!
LexG Posted November 25, 2012 Posted November 25, 2012 when the weather suits it, i wear either a leather or pleather jacket, i think it stays pretty smell free. but during summer, just wear whatever, and go via the washing basket! i know smoke jackets were velvet, but from what ive heard, that wasnt so much due to the fact that velvet didnt absorb smell, but it was just the easiest material to brush the ash off. apparently thats why satin lapels were invented. who knew cigars had such an impact on fashion!
frenchkiwi Posted November 26, 2012 Posted November 26, 2012 Besides silk, the only material I've found that won't smell is smooth leather. +1 for leather. found a rather fetching bright shiny blue silk sleeping gown (probably for ladies) at a second-hand store and wore it as Mozart costume and it still picked up a little smokey smell. but only a little. Hard to say. Considering that your own skin absorbs it. Coat yourself in olive oil then scrape it off when you are done. ... and remember - no clothes or the olive oil will be hard to get out.
Fuzz Posted November 26, 2012 Posted November 26, 2012 The more permeable the cloth or material, the more likely it is that it will pick up odours. Natural fibres like cotton and wool will pick up odours more readily than synthetic material. Clothing with silver thread or nanoparticles will resist odours and kill bacteria. Though repetitive washing these clothes will eventually remove this benefit.
Fuzz Posted November 26, 2012 Posted November 26, 2012 Regardless of clothes the smell still sticks to your hair. So shave it off and dress in plastic bags is probably the best tip??? Close. Bathe in Nair and slip into a full-body condom. That should do the trick.

Warren Posted November 28, 2012 Posted November 28, 2012 Just remember! Don't cook bacon while your naked. Or weeners also. It could get confusing.
