brazoseagle Posted November 27, 2012 Posted November 27, 2012 I see a lot of cigar pics and no deer pics????? C'mon guys! Haha
Ophidion Posted November 27, 2012 Author Posted November 27, 2012 I'm not there. That's why there are no deer pics.
PigFish Posted November 27, 2012 Posted November 27, 2012 I don't really hunt large game anymore. They look too much like my mini-horses!!! Great thread guys. You would see a lot less wasted food if people knew what an animal gave to you in order to get you that meal. Paying is not the same as harvesting. A lot of lessons to be learned in the process. Good luck, be safe and happy smoking guys. Cheers. -the Pig
Ophidion Posted November 27, 2012 Author Posted November 27, 2012 We eat everything... even boil the antlers to make antler soup.
GernBlansten Posted November 27, 2012 Posted November 27, 2012 We eat everything... even boil the antlers to make antler soup. Hmmm... Curious what the flavor is comparable to? Just broth and antlers or do you add vegies?

assassin Posted November 28, 2012 Posted November 28, 2012 Nice! you guys are lucky to live in a game rich country with great hunting and such great game management and protection. Here is Aus. if it were not for introduced species and feral animals we would have almost no game to hunt. Your fisheries and wildlife management seems to me to be exemplary! I sure do envy you guys.
ptrthgr8 Posted November 28, 2012 Posted November 28, 2012 I've never been out hunting anything larger than prairie dogs (more blastin' than hunting), but now that I've got a pup who should be a good bird dog once he's been properly trained, I'm planning to go out for some pheasant, grouse, partridge, and any other upland birds we can get. We've got some good pheasant grounds here in North Dakota, so next season should be fun. Looks like you guys had a helluva good time. Thanks for sharing the pics! Cheers, ~ Greg ~
