asmith Posted November 5, 2012 Posted November 5, 2012 A new cigar onto the market, and it is a small one so we chose not to invite Ken as he doesn't like this size. How does the cigar hold up as a new line to the R&J stable.
nikesupremedunk Posted November 5, 2012 Posted November 5, 2012 very helpful review gents! i felt the same way after having a short churchill the other day...very flavorless. Ezpass on these!
Sutton Posted November 5, 2012 Posted November 5, 2012 Well that's to bad , I am a fan of the wide Churchill minus the roast lamb. Maybe a guy will have to re visit these in a few months and see if anything has changed. A sampler might be in order the Churchill sampler
CaptainQuintero Posted November 5, 2012 Posted November 5, 2012 Welcome Anthony! I think everyone was kind of expecting this to be honest, screams marketing before flavour. If they wanted to make a shorter cigar for the pub crowd which introduces them to RyJ why not make a petit cazadorezs 5-pack tin? Exact same blend as the caza just 4 inches long?
dangolf18 Posted November 5, 2012 Posted November 5, 2012 I really wanted these to be good! Will have to stick to the RyJ SC which I love. The RyJ WC is not bad either.
Hazza Posted November 5, 2012 Posted November 5, 2012 I've really enjoyed most of the SC's ive had but I have to agree, this ones very bleh. Rob said it best on the Fri night of Havanathon, this cigar has no soul
braveheart655 Posted November 5, 2012 Posted November 5, 2012 Nice effort. It's a shame that the cigar was so bad. Btw, what are the thoughts on HDM Petit Robusto? I've been reading rather good things about it.
jedipastor Posted November 5, 2012 Posted November 5, 2012 Thanks for the review, gang! Looks like I'll stick with the HdM PR and Monte PE for this vitola. Too bad, I do like the Short Churchill quite a bit. BTW, great job Andrew!
NJP Posted November 5, 2012 Posted November 5, 2012 Thanks again gents. Any good Aussie should have been able to sell them to a kiwi. Did you get Andrew to leave with a box?
Scdalak Posted November 6, 2012 Posted November 6, 2012 Such a disappointment, Watching the review I couldn't help but think this is type of garbage HSA would be putting out across the board should the US Embargo ever be lifted. Any excuse to capitalize on the marketing..... Watered down crap...
CanuckSARTech Posted November 6, 2012 Posted November 6, 2012 Great review again guys, thanks! Good or bad, it's nice to hear it as it is. I'll be looking to try some 5-pack tins of the H. Upmann short coronas when in Cuba, but I'll stick clear of these then. Cheers.
amosnaim Posted November 6, 2012 Posted November 6, 2012 thanks for the review. great fun to watch as always. for the last few years for me the R&J are usually somewhat of a "hollow" cigar in terms of flavor. cheers
Orion21 Posted November 6, 2012 Posted November 6, 2012 Too bad to see another bad RyJ coming to the market. I will stick with the Short Churchill, that should have just been called the RyJ robusto, and my beloved cazzies
frenchkiwi Posted November 8, 2012 Posted November 8, 2012 "Petit Churchill"... eh??? you obviously don't want poor Anthony to come back if you give him one of these straight off the bat. sounds like and seemingly tastes like another Montecristo Open piece of marketing madness... maybe they're also going hard out bacchanalian over at HSA ... coming up with absurd ideas ... depressing!!
CigarB Posted November 14, 2012 Posted November 14, 2012 "The health department would love this cigar" ....my favorite review line!!
