I used to be hard-core into the RC car world. Back in high school/college I was doing a lot of the 1/12th scale indoor electrics - the carpet burners. Those things were fast and quick. Moved into 1/10th scale parking lot series a few years later when I didn't have as much time for serious competition again and still had lots of fun. I only had one nitro offroader, but had a dozen other electrics for on and off road. Even had one of those impressive Tamiya King Tiger tanks. Man... I wish I still had all that gear. Thousand of dollar worth of cars, parts, motors, tools, radios, etc. all down the drain when my mom's house got robbed and she was moving to another house 10 years ago. I knew I should have taken that stuff with me when I moved to North Dakota. Oh well.

I have recently really been getting the itch to get back into the RC world. I would love to get back into road racing (I was also eyeballing an F1 chassis of some sort), but in these parts there aren't any proper tracks/course for that sort of thing. Plenty of open land to run around on and our backyard is plenty big, so I may just go with another offroader of some sort.

Cheers,

~ Greg ~

I've always been a mad keen F1 racer. I've had everything from the Tamiya F103 through to the F104 Pro Ver2, F201, and even the Serpent F180. Unfrotunately the track i race at that has been there for 20 years has recently had noise complaint by the tossers who decided tobuild houses across the road from it a few years ago. Now we are no longer allowed to race nitro on-road and are limited to electric on road.

I'm a tamiya F1 man through and through really, tried out some of the other chassis from 3racing etc but never really got into them. The 3racing F113 just seems like a cheat car to me :P

I'll be interested to see how the Xray X1 goes. The front carbon arms has me worried though. Carbon doesn't take a hit very well and those arms are 11 bucks a piece!!! 44 dollars for an entire front set !!! I also don't have much faith in the link style rear suspension... it seems fragile to me... we'll see how we go though.

Growing food and making stuff out of wood and metal and things of that nature. Might get back into painting. Oh yah smoking a pipe. Used to play a lot of guitar and write songs and stuff until I found out how hard of a job the music industry is, so I got into construction instead.

A few years later and I'll add 4wd'ing and camping. Had a jeep cherokee kk 2008 trying to sell it but bought a toyota hilux (WAY better). enjoy beach driving particularly.

Trying to surf now, very hard sport. lets just say im not a natural and its especially hard in Perth. its either completely flat or its steep dumpers/ plus perth seabreeze which blows a gale after about 10am in summer. whoever said perth has the best beaches is kidding themselves have a look at the rest of oz. although having the sunset over the beach is excellent.

Sailing has been good but I injured myself doing it (reckon ive cracked my tailbone on the gunwale coming in off the wire on a dinghy, it just won't heal).

Back into martial arts took 3 years off because of work and changing location (its a big thing changing your dojo). train in BJC muay thai and zen do kai for any aussies you may be familiar with the style.

Gone off powerlifting a lot although still use the main lifts for training. I don't think the human body is meant to move such large weights and a lot of blokes (i reckon) use powerlifting as an excuse to EAT big not just lift big. bit unhealthy overall IMHO. no offence to any powerlifters here just not a balanced sport in my personal experience.

Just recently got back into art. I love to oil paint and draw. Also a big reader and even bigger watch enthusiast. The outdoors is my other love, Hiking, mountain biking, camping.

My hobbies vary a lot, depends what I have time for as work takes me away from home the majority of time. Cigars are one of the very few things I can enjoy at home and abroad. I used to be big into cars, restored a few classics with my father (69 Camaro, 71 Nova, 54 Impala that is now in Finland), but since he moved to Florida and sold the shop not so much anymore. I also used to tinker with my '02 Civic SI. Engine swapped, turbo'd and NOS, 469bhp not bad from a 4 cylinder.

I also love woodworking, but that's been years since I've got to do any.

SCUBA is one of the few things I can do on the road if I find a place that is open on a day off. Dove some great places in my time.going for rescue certification later this month if I can.

Whisky, wine, etc love learning and seeing how it's made, now to make my own some day.

And cooking, love every bit of it. It's one of the things my wife and I can do together. Smoking meats, grilling, creating new recipes we love it all. Lots of duds, but lots of hits too. And best of all if whatever we make sucks we get a 6 pack and a pizza (love pizza).

I have a pretty good cross section of hobbies previously mentioned here. It's good to see that many of the same interest carry over to many members, which is probably why this is such a civilized forum.

Aside from cigars, I enjoy shooting (*****, five stand and sporting clays) as well as big game and upland bird hunting. I also enjoy fly fishing both salt and fresh water, luckily I live within a quick drive of the Blue Ridge Mountains and some of the best trout fishing and turkey hunting I have ever experienced.

Other hobbies include woodworking, DIY project around the house, spending time with my family and collecting wine.

Like others, I have experience restoring cars. My dad and I have restored mostly Fords: 1955 Thunderbird, 1964 Fairlane Thunderbolt, 1963 Falcon (with GT350 running gear), 1961 Galaxie Starliner and a 1940 Dodge business coupe rod.

My other hobbies include Harley's, golf and pipes. I really enjoy riding. Its therapeutic for me.
