Diamondog Posted October 30, 2012 Posted October 30, 2012 I have extensive collections of music and movies
cigcars Posted October 30, 2012 Posted October 30, 2012 Reading, viewing DVD's at home rather than attending the theater these days; also buying various herbal teas, natural health-related products, and my favorite outside of cigars, playing the Pogo Games and regular solitaire and Free Cell on the pumcuter!
Hoops Posted October 30, 2012 Posted October 30, 2012 Backyard astronomy, home brewing, collecting and reading comic books, college hoops (go Hoosiers!).
iamphilzone Posted October 30, 2012 Posted October 30, 2012 Running, craft beers, IDPA/three gun competition, gardening not necessarily in that order.
mbrody Posted October 30, 2012 Posted October 30, 2012 Newest hobby is Idpa pistol, shotgun and 3-gun. Seriously addictive. Other hobbies are weight training, cooking, family fun and 4 wheeling/day tripping at the ocean beaches. Like craft beer and Martinis lately! Cigars is a given...
TexAg Posted October 30, 2012 Posted October 30, 2012 I hunt every now and then, but what I do the most is shooting sports (shotgun only). I used to compete when I was younger, but I became busy with other things as I grew up. Still shoot regularly as time permits.
LGC Posted October 30, 2012 Posted October 30, 2012 Flyfishing (or fishing in general), golf, cooking, restoring a 1953 Chevy 5-window stepside in the distant future, and hopefully motorcycle riding in the not so distant future.
bigharpoon Posted October 30, 2012 Posted October 30, 2012 I'm predominantly a water person. I love sailing, kayaking, canoeing, swimming, etc. etc. My daughter is proof of this: last winter when all the kids were busy making snowmen...she was sculpting a boat! Damn, that made me proud. In the winter I love to go back country tele-skiing. There are tons of places to access here in the winter, some harder than others. Lately I've really been getting into photography. When at home, the music is always on.
Tan1801 Posted October 30, 2012 Posted October 30, 2012 Outside of cigars I also love snowboarding and martial arts. I have started to build a collection of whiskys. Also I enjoy cars and motorbikes, but haven't really done much with either as of late.
LexG Posted October 30, 2012 Posted October 30, 2012 coffee, more the making/consuming side rather than the roasting side, not that i wont get into that in the future. big fan of cafe hoping round Sydney, always on the hunt for the best brew. dont know if this is a 'hobbie' but my favourite thing to do in my down time is to hang out with my best girl, whether its doing the river walk, going out to dinner or just ducking out to kmart, its what brightens my day!
CBL Posted October 30, 2012 Posted October 30, 2012 I love cooking! I'm a huge cooking nerd and when I travel instead of going to museums or sightseeing, I go to the shopping districts where all the chefs go and browse the shops and bookstores there. I'm also still a little attached to my old gaming hobby and although I still follow all the news and updates and whatnot, I don't spend that much money on games anymore (rather buy cigars).

kuzi16 Posted October 31, 2012 Posted October 31, 2012 Kuzi, what beer did you brew for your first batch? and are you going all grain or just the tins of extract? I only brew with the extract as I find I get very pleasant results and now I just experiment with the flavours. For example I made a passionfruit lager to try and get the missus to drink beer. She still doesn't, but I have ended up with a surprisingly enjoyable beer. I made a Porter. we did you tinned extracts just to keep it simple until we are ready to take that next step.we actually made a "Cola porter" and we are Calling it "Cole A. Porter" we added in a tiny bit of cola extract during the boil. we tasted as we added. as we bottled, we tasted a little of the uncarbonated product. if you didnt know it was there you would have a hard time putting your finger on it but when someone tells you its a cola porter, it seems obvious. im excited to open the first bottle around thanksgiving.

Strada Posted October 31, 2012 Posted October 31, 2012 My name is Simon and I am an addict....I collect... Cigars, Art and vintage posters mostly. I have a nice record(vinyls) collection that I have downsized 4 times because it used to be ridiculous to move . Besides collecting, I like fishing a lot, playing basketball, volleyball, running....
geosmoke Posted October 31, 2012 Posted October 31, 2012 I used to collect vinyl records myself but had to part with them when I moved to Canada. Still have a few though. Not much time for other hobbies since my little one showed up screaming & kicking but I like hiking, rock climbing, spelunking, mostly outdoor activities. And movies, although I haven't seen a movie from start to finish in over a year
