El Presidente Posted October 15, 2012 Posted October 15, 2012 Had a discussin with Goalie in relation to these. Not talking about the LE of 2008 but the regular production. Who smokes them and what are your thoughts? Will post my thoughts tomorrow.
OZCUBAN Posted October 15, 2012 Posted October 15, 2012 Never had the Reg production ,had the EL's which were brilliant when ON Like the size good when time is of the essence ,but reports have been mixed from what I hear about he Regular production , If it was like the H Upman Mag 48. It would be brilliant ,and I mean as good as the 48 is, but with the Partagas profile But then I could think of better Cigars to bring into regular production @Partagas
tmac77 Posted October 15, 2012 Posted October 15, 2012 Never heard anything good about these so I did not bother buying any.
TexAg Posted October 15, 2012 Posted October 15, 2012 I smoked one during the US Vice Presidential Debate last week. I enjoyed it and will probably have to secure a box in the future. Not many people have reviewed this cigar, most of the searches for reviews come up with all the EL reviews.
Zigatoh Posted October 15, 2012 Posted October 15, 2012 Bought a box of ten last year, smoked one and it was terrible, the rest are in deep sleep in the miniscule hope they become something I wouldn't be unwilling to give to a drunk mate/aquaintance in the distant future...
Dbone Posted October 15, 2012 Posted October 15, 2012 I was reluctant to these, since I already have staple Partagas vitolas already. I'll be interested to hear more peoples take on these because I do search for that perfect pumpkin pie spice I find from time to time.
PartagasIV Posted October 15, 2012 Posted October 15, 2012 I didn't want to like them, but I do. Gone through a box already. A little firecracker of a cigar.
CaptainQuintero Posted October 15, 2012 Posted October 15, 2012 There are so many small Partagas around already that I've never thought about reaching for one to be honest. The shorts are first choice and if I fancy something different there are still a whole host of the C&C around eg mf's super partagas etc etc
CaptainQuintero Posted October 15, 2012 Posted October 15, 2012 So how did you like the d5s CQ? LOL They make me appreciate the shorts a lot more lol!
MPS Posted October 15, 2012 Posted October 15, 2012 Pretty good cigars. Would rather smoke a good D4 or better yet E2. Still a good change of pace for when a little one is needed.
Bartolomeo Posted October 15, 2012 Posted October 15, 2012 I have had very good luck with these in last 6 mos....been through 2 boxes....i have struggled with the PSD4 and the E I have had been hit and miss The PSD5 have been representing the Partagas profile perfectly lately Price point is a little whack IMHO Bart
Cohiba007 Posted October 15, 2012 Posted October 15, 2012 First 5 or 6 that I smoked were pretty bland. Last one I had surprised me and was quite enjoyable. Didn't really scream partagas flavorwise, but enjoyed it very much
goalie204 Posted October 16, 2012 Posted October 16, 2012 But I was asking about the el Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Geo17pip Posted October 16, 2012 Posted October 16, 2012 Ive seen them in market. Im curious as to how these are. Lets hear it Prez!
mbrody Posted October 16, 2012 Posted October 16, 2012 So I lit one up, to sacrifice and to perform my duty as a member of FOH. I recall my first one, ROTT when they were released, as rather harsh and not really pleasant. Tonight's example has me searching to describe the flavors. Started with sugar cane followed by blasts of white pepper. Some sweet green grapes has crept into the second third with gingerbread. This is totally unexpected. Partagas? The last third sees more of the start and then turns dark and harsh. The flavor leaves and I pitch it...
braveheart655 Posted October 16, 2012 Posted October 16, 2012 My bet is, Rob is pleasantly surprised with the regular D5 and he's strongly advised Sven to put up a sale in the near future:)
pnutbutrsangwich Posted October 17, 2012 Posted October 17, 2012 Decent cigar, but absurdly priced. Still struggling to comrprehend how it is more expensive than the D4s, or at best only a small percentage cheaper.
mk05 Posted October 19, 2012 Posted October 19, 2012 Decent cigar, but absurdly priced. Still struggling to comrprehend how it is more expensive than the D4s, or at best only a small percentage cheaper. T - more importantly, let's go off topic and talk about how amazing the recent D4s are! Sorry Rob! They're so fracking good!
ksblazer Posted October 22, 2012 Posted October 22, 2012 Will post my thoughts tomorrow. So what are your thoughts on these Prez?
