I will be spending some time in San Antonio next few months.

Any FOH'ers have some suggestions on some nice comfortable places to smoke. I dont mind buying a few sticks as long as they let me brown bag as well.

Thoughts?

Thanks, Rush

Are you kidding me? I just told you I lived there for 3 years, I can tell you everywhere to go, or better, I can come down and hang out and show you!!! You just need to let me know when you make the move.

Rush,

(Like Most Nazi Cities these days, San Antonio has put new ordinances in place to ban indoor smoking, other than some lounges and oddly enough Dave and Busters found a loophole)

Here are some of my favorite places to spend my time from when we lived there and now go back quiet often.

#1 by far - The YardHouse at La Cantera, one of my favorite all time places, you will love it!!!! Great Food, Great Patio, and beer selection which they claim to be a Guinness record for the US.

Floores Country Store - We lived out by Helotes and would frequent here 2-3 times a week, always on Sunday Afternoon!!!! One of the most historical and well known live music venues in the State. Great music, indoor and outdoor areas, and great food!!!

Fincks Cigars !!

Fox and Hound

Flying Saucer

Chango's Havana Club

Sherlocks

Lion & The Rose Pub

The Irish Pub

The Highlander

Fatso's

Hills and Dales Icehouse

****Some of our Favorite Places to Eat***** (Just Trust Me on These)

Magnolia Pancake Haus - Wins best Breakfast every single year

Chester's Hamburgers - Best burgers around

Aldo's - our #1 favorite place in San Antonio - Great homemade Italian food, Great Atmosphere

The YardHouse

Tip Top Cafe - featured on Dinner's Drive in's and Dives

Bobby J's

El Chaparral

La Fogata

Henry's Puffy Taco's

Tiago's Cabo Grill

Kona Grill

Salsalitos

Scenic Loop Cafe

Grey Moss Inn

Dry Dock Oyster Bar

StoneWerks

Grimaldi's

Godai Sushi

Golden Wok

Dodging Duck Brewhaus

BJ's Brewhouse

Cappy's

Z Tejas

Perico's

Brindle's Ice Cream!!!

****Fine Dinning*****

Bourdro's on the Riverwalk

Aldo's

Biga on the Banks

Bohanan's

Grey Moss Inn

Fig Tree

WildFish

La Frite

Aldino's

Luke

***SteakHouses****

I don't really care for any of the so called Steakhouses in San Antonio, they all really pale in comparison to the Steakhouses in DFW. Most of them are chains, and there are a handful of non chains that are ok.

Boudro's

Bohanan's

Grey Moss Inn

Then you have the usual suspects:

Mortons

Flemings

Perry's

Ruth Chris

Old San Francisco

Fago De Chao

Texas De Brazil

Kirby's

Ounce

Palm

The yard house just opened up about 2 years ago , if even that long. Which one did you go to?

One addition and clarification:

You cannot miss Rolando's Super Taco around Hildebrand and Blanco, more or less.

The Perico's on Bandera and Prue is great, live music Friday's. The Perico's on/around Stone Oak and 281 is on par with Taco Bell.

Otherwise, super fantastico advice. ok.gif

Perico's on Bandera is the only Pericos in my opinion.

Amen bro, and I like the Finck's in the old house on, Military/410 maybe?

Been to every other one of your suggestions. Excellent taste. Lived there 1990 to 98, and return quarterly.

We were there just shortly from 2005-2008, but it was before kids, so we were prone to go out 6 of the 7 nights per week.

We still go back often.

Magnolia Pancake Hauss is something we did every single weekend and miss it dearly. Easily the best breakfast I've ever had.

We got engaged at Aldo's.

I love all the places I listed, and I don't care much for the river walk scene or the places that the tourist guides say to eat at.

I was there when you could still smoke inside most of the bars/grills.

On line with Pericos, the Helotes El Chaparral is the only location for that in my opinion too.
