Jnaube Posted September 25, 2012 Posted September 25, 2012 It's really been a while since I started a post on this forum and I taught myself, while smoking a delightful aged Cohiba in a Toronto parking lot, what's the oldest cuban I smoked? As far as I can remember, it would be a 70's Monte... Tasted like crap because the friend who gave it to me never knew how to store cigars. Anyway, what's the oldest smoke you ever had?
nikesupremedunk Posted September 25, 2012 Posted September 25, 2012 '00 punch RS 11 and Boli CE from the aged sampler pack. Punch was a huge let down and Boli CE was alright. Still have 1 more of each remaining will try them again next year.
Ophidion Posted September 25, 2012 Posted September 25, 2012 CC: ERDM Tainos from 98 (or 99 I forget) NC: Partagas 150 (rolled in 1995)
Puros Y Vino Posted September 25, 2012 Posted September 25, 2012 1970 Cuban Davidoff No 1. Fantastic cigar. The last half had some serious strength left too. I have a few older sticks too. 1940's/50's/60's.
maverickdrinker Posted September 25, 2012 Posted September 25, 2012 40s arco, pre embargo RA Aristocrat, a cigar from the 30s.
LGC Posted September 25, 2012 Posted September 25, 2012 1920's Overland Perfecto... novelty smoke with no discernible flavors.
pjansen Posted September 25, 2012 Posted September 25, 2012 1999 La Flor de Cano Predilectos Tubulares it was so sweet and creamy.
ramon_cojones Posted September 25, 2012 Posted September 25, 2012 my buddy had a cigar from 1918 or some nonsense, novelty smoke he said 80s for me
cigcars Posted September 25, 2012 Posted September 25, 2012 A Flor de Farach that's about 2in. in length and perfecto shaped. God knows how old but it had definite Habana flavor. I have two packs that come in 5's that I've had since about 1999.
dvickery Posted September 25, 2012 Posted September 25, 2012 entire cigar to myself...ajay had some pretty old stuff last time we met...pre embargo i suppose(never asked him). being passed around...lords of london(i think from the 1920's or 30's or something). had/have full boxes...lots of em from the 70's ... nothing any older than that. derrek
winelover Posted September 25, 2012 Posted September 25, 2012 A 1940s clear Havana generously gifted from a well respected BOTL from another board. A real experience and surprisingly complex. First time I ever tasted a hint of orange peel in a cigar.
Michel1968 Posted September 25, 2012 Posted September 25, 2012 Wouldn't you know it... tonight I have a go at an early to mid 1960's RyJ Cedros de Luxe #3...
nick17 Posted September 25, 2012 Posted September 25, 2012 1998 VR classicos first half vary light in flavor but the second half blew me away if i rated the second half i would have to give it 98
cottierm Posted September 25, 2012 Posted September 25, 2012 1998 VR classicos first half vary light in flavor but the second half blew me away if i rated the second half i would have to give it 98 Yes, they tend to have this kind of effect! Best, Michel
canadianbeaver Posted September 26, 2012 Posted September 26, 2012 Also have had the Arco, as well as the Ninfa and some other very old old ones from our generous brother Dball. My palate may just not be worthy of such an experience but Mattthew and I found the pre 1970 cigars to be so harsh they burned our throats. The Ninfa was a delight as was a RA 2000 or 2001(not sure which) RASCC.
partifan Posted September 26, 2012 Posted September 26, 2012 70's Corona from Honduras, 98 SLR lonsdales
canadianbeaver Posted September 26, 2012 Posted September 26, 2012 The life changing cigar, however, was the Davidoff Dom Peringnon I smoked on my 50th birthday last year. Dreamy, creamy and absolutely delish.

Michel1968 Posted September 26, 2012 Posted September 26, 2012 Wouldn't you know it... tonight I have a go at an early to mid 1960's RyJ Cedros de Luxe #3... So as of today my oldest cigar smoked would be around 50 years of age... Liked it very much!
kittipong Posted September 26, 2012 Posted September 26, 2012 Jose de Gener - Longo from 1980' - I think purchased 12 years ago from famous B&M swiss but it was a bit dried and tasteless.
