Popular Post Bill Hayes Posted December 19, 2020 Popular Post Posted December 19, 2020 Enjoyed a few nice ones last night. a pale ale, an IPA, a breakfast pastry stout but the pick of them was the West Coast IPA from One Drop. Seems to be a trend back towards WC IPA after we've been bombarded with so many hazy variations of late. Still love a hazy but good ones are harder to find. Need a Hazy Google Search Engine. Ha ha! 6

Popular Post Bill Hayes Posted May 18, 2021 Popular Post Posted May 18, 2021 It's Beer Fest time in Melbourne, Australia. Good Beer Week has events, tap take-overs and collabs happening all over town. But it was also the 3rd birthday of my favourite Aussie brewer ATM - Range Brewing from sunny Brisbane for all our QLD members. Do yourself a favour and try them out if you like Hazy IPA. They now have a bar in Abbotsford in Melbourne too. To celebrate the 3rd year they offered 3 collaborations. A triple NEIPA, 'Lights & Music', with Garage Project from NZ. 10.4% of magic. Best beer I've had on tap. Smooth and extremely drinkable with a tropical back palate and aftertaste that lingers. Not quite as good in the can. The other I liked was a double pastry imperial stout collab with Finback Brewery from Queens, NY for our US friends. 12.3% but you wouldn't know it. Smooooooooth, with just a hint of choc and notes of ripe banana. Was better out of the can IMHO but I may have let it come back to room temp from the can instead of smashing it from the tap. The third was a New England Pale Ale, 'Crocodiles don't play cricket' collab with DEYA Brewing from Cheltenham, Gloucestershire, ENG for all our Brits. A very smashable Pale Ale at 5%, soft and fruity. Better for QLD or the Summer but very good. Here's a few picks from the birthday box with complimentary glass. PS. I have no affiliation with these guys but they are killing it ATM. And I like to tip my hat at folks that are forging forward and great at their craft. The passion is easy to recognise. Cheers, and wish me well surviving the week. What a time to start a new job. Ha ha! 6
