mazolaman Posted August 9, 2012 Posted August 9, 2012 A decent Cava for me with a cigar...I prefer the sharp dryness, also in Champagne, but Prosecco is too sweet for me.
CanuckSARTech Posted August 14, 2012 Posted August 14, 2012 Wow. Nice scarf. Didn't know it was a needed accoutrement for enjoying cigars and/or champagne?!
Ken Gargett Posted August 15, 2012 Posted August 15, 2012 Krug with a Sir Winston. A match made in heaven perhaps it should be a pol sir winnie with a cuban sir winnie?
Strada Posted August 15, 2012 Posted August 15, 2012 perhaps it should be a pol sir winnie with a cuban sir winnie? Hey Ken, Can you drop a few names of Champagne and sparkling you have paired and was succesful please?
semery74 Posted August 15, 2012 Posted August 15, 2012 Ken, Perhaps you should of expanded on some good Australian Bubbly. Here on the East Coast of the US I'm able to find a few Australians, by Thorn Clarke and Greg Norman. I've been a growing fan of Blanc de Noirs, I find them Medium-Dry, which is in my desired range. There are some really good Sparkling Wines coming out of New Mexico of all places, Gruet being one of them. All of which are fantastic with any cigar and any time of year. What are your thoughts on sparkling Shiraz and Australia's potential for competitive champagne blend style wines?
