CanuckSARTech Posted July 24, 2012 Posted July 24, 2012 Had a bunch of coursemates over to my place a few weeks back for a pigroast and copious amounts of liquor. Went swimmingly... We cracked open a couple of boxes of RA Extras and Cohiba Maduro 5 Secretos. Not everyone got all the nuances of taste/flavours and whatnot. But all were able to pick out the main aspects of the blends, and were very enthused with those formats and flavour blends. Those two were definite hits, and not a single cigar was set down early for "newbies" (all smoked at least 2/3 done).
jedipastor Posted July 25, 2012 Posted July 25, 2012 I think Hoyo de Monterrey is an excellent cigar to give rookies. Very accessible, pleasant, and mild enough not to cause problems. The Epicure Especial in particular would be great, or Epi #1 if time is shorter.
tydra Posted August 2, 2012 Posted August 2, 2012 H. Upmann Connie 1's or SLR Regios are not really that expensive and both are relatively smooth and on the sweeter side of the flavor profile rather than the pure tobacco and/or savory side. IMHO, that would be an easy intro into CCs.
