MrGlass Posted July 17, 2012 Posted July 17, 2012 I have a single stick from when Ramses was in town that will be extremely difficult for me to bring myself to smoke. This cigar was rolled for me at my request, and the video of it being rolled is on my phone. When I see it, I remember what a great night I had. It will burn someday, but most likely not anytime soon.
maverickdrinker Posted July 17, 2012 Posted July 17, 2012 I have boxes of 2010 EL Montecristo Grand Edmundos that are earmarked for when my son grows up. I will burn them with him,
Rushman Posted July 17, 2012 Posted July 17, 2012 nothing really counts for me in that category - i generally smoke what I have, and savor each one like its my last - you never know how long you have in this world. All the untouchable stuff is in my wife's collection - she has a lot of really aged and limited releases that i am not allowed to get my grubby little hands on. She is not necessarily a collector - she has been in the CC trade for 15 years, and everything she has is for sale, for the right price - just not for smoking. The price she pays for not letting me touch her collection is that i smoke anything i want in the store at any time, so long as I sell more than i smoke. When its slow season in PDC, thats not as easy as it sounds.
LeafLover Posted July 17, 2012 Posted July 17, 2012 Has to be my LGC Mdor No. 1 03's. I'm real stingy about them.
ramon_cojones Posted July 17, 2012 Posted July 17, 2012 I have a lot of boxes that I have resisted breaking. Why? Cause I have plenty of great cigars to smoke today. I only want to smoke the best cigars so I don't really hold out on anything when I really want to open a new box. Each cigar could be my last cigar. Why save the best ones for my wife to pass out at my funeral? I too am saving some full orig. Siglo 6's. Not because they are precious to me, they don't hold a candle to a good Lanceros. Someday I will soak some collector who has more dollars than sense for a box and buy 10 boxes of really great cigars!!! Wow, I can't believe they coming up on 10 years now! Funny... I save the cigars that I don't really think are all that good and smoke the good ones! -Piggy This was awesome, I absolutely hate the sig vi vitola. It is a decent smoke but something about 38rg just feels right.

jay8354 Posted July 17, 2012 Posted July 17, 2012 A box of Party SdC #3. I know i get it sent down from the locker, I'll smoke them all in very short order. Knowing that I'll never be able to get them again is the only reason that has stayed my hand. Fuzz - just smoke my ones. i have another box put away On another note, I have Cohibar Siglo VI 2003 as well, only around 10 sticks left.... and I wish I had ordered another box of them.
El Presidente Posted July 17, 2012 Author Posted July 17, 2012 I have original boxes numbered 1-10 of Por Larranaga Belicoso Extra if anyone wants to contact me for the full set. Please do so before I crack them :rotfl:
neilbrace Posted July 17, 2012 Posted July 17, 2012 I Can't Touch The last 4 sticks of RYJ churchil from 1996
Michel1968 Posted July 17, 2012 Posted July 17, 2012 That's a box of Bolivar Lonsdales 2001 for me. Smoked 4, all were simply great. Lots of power and layer upon layer upon layer of aroma and taste. I consider the contents of this box to be a statue of the Cuban cigar. I hate to know one day the last one will be enjoyed - I hope, but trying to get that day as far ahead in the future as possible.
Fuzz Posted July 17, 2012 Posted July 17, 2012 Fuzz - just smoke my ones. i have another box put away On another note, I have Cohibar Siglo VI 2003 as well, only around 10 sticks left.... and I wish I had ordered another box of them. Done deal!

Puros Y Vino Posted July 17, 2012 Posted July 17, 2012 I have a whole bunch of Hamlet customs from his time in Toronto. So tempted to chain smoke them but I want to savor them slowly over time. I have a few aged beauties that need smoking but I have them in singles only so I'm torn. Goodies such as a Davidoff Dom Perignom (1982) & No 2 Tubo (1980). RyJ En Cedro No 1 (1960). There are also a half dozen ERDM Tainos from 2000 that tempt me now and then.
PigFish Posted July 17, 2012 Posted July 17, 2012 Hey Ray..... So how many boxes of RA 898's do you have tucked away then??? I could tell ya' but then... well, you know the answer!!! -LOL To be honest my friend, I think the Diplo 1 blows the doors off these. I know they are the Holy Grail to a lot of folks but I smoke these rarely because I have better cigars to smoke. Frankly I always enjoyed the 898UV over the 898V as well. Is there a correlation? I don't know, but for some reason I have preferred the taste performance of the Cervantes over the Dalias, another case where the generally cheaper cigar out ranks the more costly. I like the feel of the Dalias better, but time after time, the score comes up better for the Cervantes to my palate. There is just a magic to 42 ring cigars. Damn shame to see them killed off. Maybe I should have answered this thread; yeah, the 42 ring cigar!!! -Piggy
perfectform Posted July 17, 2012 Posted July 17, 2012 Nothing. Everything I have will die by fire now that I unloaded my CGR's.
Lotusguy Posted July 17, 2012 Posted July 17, 2012 I'll smoke everything in my collection, eventually. There are some boxes with the birth dates of my children, and my anniversary where I smoke only one a year but nothing is entirely off-limits. I didn't spend all this time and money tracking down stuff to let it go to my heirs
LGC Posted July 19, 2012 Posted July 19, 2012 1970's RyJ Celestiales Finos. I kick myself for handing out as many as I have. Can't believe I went from almost 2 full boxes to only a handful of sticks. There are some other boxes of rare stuff that are hard to smoke, given their value.
ramon_cojones Posted July 19, 2012 Posted July 19, 2012 That's all you do anyway. Brandon, save one for me lol
Habanakane21 Posted July 19, 2012 Posted July 19, 2012 I'd have to say my '02 box of H Upmann Sir Winstons. A close second would be my box of '06 cohiba piramide EL's. Oops I wanna make sure everyone knows that I have smoked a few sticks out of these boxes. I mean why else would we buy cigars if not to smoke them, right.
Rye Posted July 19, 2012 Posted July 19, 2012 It has to be the lone LGC RE Cuba that stares at me daily, but it will go up soon I'm sure. I am also having a very hard time grabbing one of my last 2 Viaje White label Candela's... It solidifies why I dislike super-limited release cigars, you just get to liking them, and you will never have them again! I must be a touch masochistic, because I continue to put myself through the same ritual, again, and again!
Ryan Posted July 19, 2012 Posted July 19, 2012 I have a "Maravilla Extra" custom roll, rolled by a friend of Prez and given to me at a high-rise party in Havana in 2010.. I have a few Monte No. 2 Gran Reservas but one given to me by an old friend that I don't think I'll ever be able to light. Everything else I have, and I've been lucky enough to get some rare stuff over the years, will be smoked or given away. Again, I suppose it's not the cigars themselves..
