Just got to Sydney!

Hey everyone,

just got to Sydney for two days of an internal business conference. Good times, but I'm especially looking forward to somking some cigars during the night.

So what do I need to know about smoking here? I keep reading all the usual Aussie horror stories about tightening cigar laws... but I'm assuming you guys know where to go?

Hi mate,

You won't be smoking in doors unless you know the owner and its after business hours.

Places i've been that are friendly to cigars.

Cohibar - recent FOH gathering was here.

Hemmesphere - up market place

La Bodeguita - Easy going place to grab a mohito or nice meal.

Other places you can go in town.

Zeta Bar @ Sydney Hilton

Ivy (between Lawn and Den)

Coast Restaurant Roof Top Bar

Georges King St Wharf

Just google them to find their location and details.

Had you timed your trip for next week, a few of us are getting together next Tuesday.

just came in from San Diego, heading off to Singapore and Bejing next, but I'll definitely be in Sydney for the next couple of days.

Just to clarify, we can smoke at Bodieguito or Cohibar? I just want a place where I can pick up a half a box or so with my mates and kick back some place comfortable and have a smoke.

Yea we made sure to turn the sun on for you.

Both places have balcony areas for smoking, the cigars can be quite expensive so best to bring your own.

If you are hitting La Bodeguita, ask for the rum old fashioned. Fantastic drink to enjoy with some cigars. Don't bother asking for a mojito, in the past I have found it wanting.

As for picking up half a box, anywhere you go is going to be expensive. It is Sydney, after all! And don't ya just love the fine Sydney winter's day we put on for your arrival!!

if you need to get smokes while you are here, be prepared they are expensive. but go see justin at the havana express in the westin and tell him Ned sent you. and lbdm is great, the patio is eh but you can smoke. and the mojitos are pretty good, and for $10 you cant go wrong. thats the other thing, booze down here is expensive!
