ptrthgr8 Posted July 13, 2012 Posted July 13, 2012 Every single generation says that, when young cavemen stopped wiping poop on their face before going on a hunt the old cavemen would have been sat there tutting and saying they can't tell the difference between girls and boys anymore/they keep kissing men by accident. That made me chuckle... awesome visual. True it may be, but then it just means it's getting worse with each passing generation. How long before men start popping out babies? ~ Greg ~
canadianbeaver Posted July 13, 2012 Posted July 13, 2012 About that fish food video... yech but... I guess you guys are unfamiliar with the mikvah.
AverageJoe83 Posted July 13, 2012 Posted July 13, 2012 http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ixqbc7X2NQY The cloud of insecurity smoke in this thread is overwhelming! No, can't say that I have ever had a pedicure. Thought never crossed my mind, but maybe I will give it a try. I've been a logger(lumberjack to some) and heavy construction worker for years so I have pretty rough feet, they'll probably die when I take my shoes off LOL.For those questioning his manliness, would you really deny your wife if she asked you over something so silly as a "man card"? No wonder divorce rate in the westernized world is 55% or higher. For shame.
canadianbeaver Posted July 13, 2012 Posted July 13, 2012 I love how the Kinks video has no guitars plugged in and the drummer looks so bored... Kink-sync... great song!!
riazp Posted July 13, 2012 Posted July 13, 2012 nothing to do with my manhood, I just dont like people touching my feet...
Tarks Posted July 13, 2012 Posted July 13, 2012 Not expecting a lenghty discussion, but more of a survey of the population. I'm a pretty open minded kind of guy so I will try (almost) anything once. I don't go by myself or with a group of guys but with my wife who appreciates that I would do somthing like this with her, and I do enjoy it. I don't get my toes painted with anything. I don't see the reservations with someone (usually a woman) scraping the dead skin off my feet and giving me a foot massage and so on. That said, a straight razor shave is somthing that I have always wanted to do but have never found the opportunity. Maybe one day.... G Then why don't you come out to one of the Wpg herfs on of these days? btw, you definitely lose your man card!
Colt45 Posted July 13, 2012 Posted July 13, 2012 Never had one, but could probably use one, along with a full body hair dip. Ayala once asked "Who Waxes", but I think he was trolling.....
geneticdrifter Posted July 13, 2012 Posted July 13, 2012 The cloud of insecurity smoke in this thread is overwhelming! For those questioning his manliness, would you really deny your wife if she asked you over something so silly as a "man card"? This thread is hilarious, lighthearted and thought provoking all at the same time. I could care less what anyone chooses to do as long as it doesn't affect me or impose anything on me I didn't ask for; freedom, liberty, etc. But I wonder why we feel the need to define certain types of people into specific roles, gender or otherwise. Most people would consider defining someone by their race or economic status as wrong, so why not gender? I understand as humans we naturally want to group things and find patterns among the entropy but is it meaningful? Does it effect or subconscious opinions of others? Just food for thought. Not trying to rabble-rouse or thread jack...
bigfunkyg Posted July 13, 2012 Author Posted July 13, 2012 Do what makes you happy but if you just wanted to survey, a do you get pedicures with a yes/no poll would have sufficed. Sharing the whole experience and discussing with other guys is well like brazoeagle said, awkward. It's only awkward for them, not me. I just put it out there. It always suprises me the level of resistance that some men have towards this, and how some seem so threatened by it. Be open minded about trying different things. How do you know until you have tried? I'm fully aware that I'm in a minority position in regards to this and that doesn't bother me nor does make my manliness feel threatened. Our common bond is cigars and we all have many other passions or interests that are quite uncommon. I will say this. It never fails to impress the ladies.

brazoseagle Posted July 13, 2012 Posted July 13, 2012 1) nothing Threatening about dainty feet! 2) a man's feet arn't supposed to be pretty, a man should be doing enough hard work a labor in his boots throughout the week that a pedicure should be the definition of counter productive. 3) keep your ladies who are impressed with dainty feet out of Texas! The gals in these parts are not impressed with such. I can't think of too many situations when a gal would even see a mans foot with his boots off. Swimming, the beach and diggin' guts are about the only scenarios that would ever happen, and the latter is usually done with the lights off. Don't let Justin Bieber win!
ramon_cojones Posted July 13, 2012 Posted July 13, 2012 bastian your command of the english language is impressive given your comments previously i have to laugh at some of these archaic assertions though
Scdalak Posted July 13, 2012 Posted July 13, 2012 Ross, Please consider locking this thread, I beg you.... +1
AverageJoe83 Posted July 13, 2012 Posted July 13, 2012 i have to laugh at some of these archaic assertions though I LOL'd a bit. +1 Why is it whenever a conversation starts up with friendly banter on differing opinions, someone screams for thread locking? Do you like refreshing six hours later and seeing no new posts?
ramon_cojones Posted July 13, 2012 Posted July 13, 2012 ^exactly how about those who don't like it just avoid it altogether? pretty simple, easy solution if you ask me

No wonder divorce rate in the westernized world is 55% or higher. For shame. This is a straw-man argument. And a rather bad one at that. If a pedicure is a silly thing, why would your wife divorce you for not wanting to go along with her? If you get a divorce because you do not want to go get a pedicure with your wife, then the pedicure was not really the issue. Cheers, ~ Greg ~
ptrthgr8 Posted July 13, 2012 Posted July 13, 2012 i have to laugh at some of these archaic assertions though This is interesting to me. I would agree that some of the assertions I and others have made are not inline with the today's modern PC crowd, but why do you imply that such assertions are bad? What's wrong with gender identity? What's wrong with having "manly" things and "girly" things? ~ Greg ~

I was referenceing the give and take that must be present in a relationship for it to succeed. Obviously no one is going to get a divorce over a pedicure, that would be ridiculous. I'm just saying, is it that big a sacrifice to get a pedicure with your wife if she asks? I don't think so, maybe you do, if so you're entitled to.

If a husband is reluctant to do stuff like this in additon to other stuff deemd non-manly like watching a cheesy romantic comedy or whatever (if she's into that) then she will likely seek attention elsewhere because her husband "doesn't understand". This is interesting to me. I would agree that some of the assertions I and others have made are not inline with the today's modern PC crowd, but why do you imply that such assertions are bad? What's wrong with gender identity? What's wrong with having "manly" things and "girly" things? ~ Greg ~ How does getting oneself groomed compromise that person of his manliness? If you think about it, without society's conditioning that it's "girly" how can a logical conclusion be reached that it is so?
Nino Posted July 13, 2012 Posted July 13, 2012 Guess I'm outta this here thread .... One "Impressive" discussion was enough
ramon_cojones Posted July 13, 2012 Posted July 13, 2012 I didn't realize getting your nails trimmed or your body/feet massaged was such a gender defining activity! I don't know about you but I don't think I'd want to get pregnant, but I would like a foot massage The problem lies in being concerned with what others think about your proclivities. As you can see, funkyg, nino, averagejoe, myself and others do what we like and aren't concerned with labels or opinions about them. Kind of like being flavor guys when it comes to cigars.
GernBlansten Posted July 13, 2012 Posted July 13, 2012 we could also discuss bikini waxing, anal bleaching and what not. To co-opt a quote from Pulp Fiction: Look, maybe your idea of a pedicure differs from mine, but touching someone's feet and bikini waxing/anal bleaching ain't in the same ballpark, ain't in the same league, ain't even the same sport. Just sayin'
