I will admit, I enjoy getting a pedicure. I might go once or twice a year usually with my wife as a special occasion. We went for one today for a belated anniversary night followed by dinner and a cigar on the deck.

I know some men are profusely opposed to the idea but my thought is there is nothing wrong with someone scraping the dead skin off my feet followed by a good massage. You feet always feel so good afterwards!

Does anyone else endulge or is of the opinion that such an act warrants the suspension of ones "man card".

Thoughts?

My wife keeps asking me to go. I have yet to take her up on it. Maybe I should?

More power to you!

If someone wants to rub my feet wearing very little...I am all for it spotlight.gif

...then again I am not sure we are talking about the same "pedicures" lookaround.gif

My best friend MADE her husband go get his first pedicure ever in life. What a job on that poor Korean lady! She had to do him TWICE! She was cussing in her native language and my friend paid her twice for doing again his great gnarly tootsies - a high topper mountain of dead skin, etc. But as you said earlier, Bigfunk - he said his feet felt sooo gooood...!!!

Seriously?

Your man-card has not only been suspended, it has been revoked! :stir:

Ive done it, with my wife, its not too high on my priority list. There is, however, a place in LA called "Happy Feet" where you get a lower leg and foot massage for one hour for $15 USD.

I could go there every day time permitting.

Alas, don't have that down here in mexico - they do have a lot of those "fish spa" things, where people put there feet in the same dingy water as a million other people, and let these small fish eat (?) away the dead skin - to me, that sounds over the top - not sure i would do it if the water was clean, but certainly not after a million tourists did it with their crusty feet!

Sounds pretty damn manly if you're admitting it on a public forum, man cards exponentially multiplied imho.

I'd go if a girl I was into wanted me to accompany her.

Not expecting a lenghty discussion, but more of a survey of the population. I'm a pretty open minded kind of guy so I will try (almost) anything once. I don't go by myself or with a group of guys but with my wife who appreciates that I would do somthing like this with her, and I do enjoy it. I don't get my toes painted with anything.

I don't see the reservations with someone (usually a woman) scraping the dead skin off my feet and giving me a foot massage and so on.

That said, a straight razor shave is somthing that I have always wanted to do but have never found the opportunity. Maybe one day....

Had many manicures and pedicures, haircuts, shavings and massages done mostly in Asia in the last 15-20 years, mostly along some girls from my crews ( for the best places always ask airline crews ) or my wife.

Always great service, friendly, very affordable and I sometimes was even able to smoke a small cigar during the procedure.

Great way to relax, feel good and take time out from the buzz and heat of the metropolies.

Never worried me any, except for the time I fell asleep having a manicure in Guangzhou and woke up with my nails in some kind of transparent, glossy protective barnish they had applied ... to the giggling of my crew and the nice girl who did it.

There are some things a man simply should not do, IMHO... and getting pedicures or manicures is right towards the top of the list. It's right up there with wearing thong panties, having a purse, or drinking appletinis. Fine for the ladies, but not for the real men.

Again, just my opinion since the OP asked for it.

Only secretly underneath my regular clothes - kind of like the Superman suit :lookaround:

I usually end up getting a couple during hunting season. The amount of time I spend walking around in hunting boots is brutal on my feet and one of my girlfriend's pet peeves is dry, rough feet. I actually kind of enjoy it. The place she goes to has a bar in it so that helps. It's actually pretty relaxing having a crown on the rocks and getting a calf massage.

The term "real man" or "I'm a man's man" make me give out equally large amount of laughter and pity when people say it seriously.

Being a 'real man' is about being able to love others, carry on through the hard times with grace and helping those who can't help themselves.

How much someone can drink, how many people they have punched, how big someone's gun is, how loud someone's engine is etc IMO doesn't show how much of a man someone is, but how much of a boy they are.

Shooting yourself in the foot right there :cigar:

Agreed, for the most part. Loving others, carrying on through hard times with grace, and helping others isn't a sign of manliness... it's a sign of being human. It's not a gender thing at all.

But I do think the feminization of the male gender over the last 50 years or so has blurred the distinction between the two genders. I agree that simply getting into bar fights or racing cars down the street or whatever else isn't necessarily "manly" and is most likely quite stupid. But there are certainly some things out there that aren't manly, no matter how you try to spin it. Again, just my opinion.

As long as they don't paint your toenails. And as long as it isn't another man doing the scrubbing. Next time someone revokes your man card just tell them that they can have it and that they get a discount at the Ed Hardy store with it

Every single generation says that, when young cavemen stopped wiping poop on their face before going on a hunt the old cavemen would have been sat there tutting and saying they can't tell the difference between girls and boys anymore/they keep kissing men by accident.

Ummmmmmmmm.............awkwarrrrrrrrd!

Let it be known, the Eagle takes narry a part in such lollygaggin' nonsense. Maybe it's Texas, or maybe it's that thing dangling betwixed my legs that prevents me from such shinaniganz and exploring an inner lady man estro-wankus.

Once again, Justin Bieber Wins, good job guys. We will never put a man on the moon at this rate. C'mon!
