Dbone Posted July 10, 2012 Posted July 10, 2012 I signed it Dan, cause that's what a brother is suppose to do! But as cheesy as it may sound, the ultimate vote is with your purchasing. If you don't like the product or company behind it... don't support it (I believe Ray has been down this road). That being said, I have a cabinet full of cuban cigars I enjoy smoking and I'd rather have it that way instead of them re-releasing or adding new cigars which either don't meet expectations or fall short of what "it should be".... ya know? Is there more I'd wish for, of course... that is kind of human nature. Do I wish some of the great discontinued cuban cigars would come back... yeah... as long as they taste like they did LOL Some of the most commonly asked questions go along the line of, what's your favorite "enter vitola", or what should I buy next, or if you could only buy 1 more box to last forever what would it be? That kind of stuff. And the answers are always all over the place. Hardly there is a trend to one brand or vitola. I feel that's because, while there are plenty of everyones favorites, there is rarely an everyones worse (Monte Eagle excluded LOL). And that is a good thing. To me, it's not that big of a deal. I enjoy plenty of what the have to offer and try not to focus on what they're missing. But I'll support my brothers and wish you good luck! It would be a positive move.

I agree with you; ultimately the only power we have as consumers is how we choose to spend, or not, our money. As individuals that does not account for jack in the face of a powerful monopoly. As a large group we may have an influence on policy, although I am not holding my breath. And if we do find a sympathetic ear in HSA I would be at a loss to give them an answer if they were to ask me what discontinued cigar I would like to see them bring back. You made a good point: there would be no consensus from this forum, or any other for that matter, on that question. Assuming they could not (and should not) bring back all discontinued cigars, any bring back decision HSA would make would be just as likely to piss off more people than it would please: this would be a no win proposition for them. But if they decide to revitalize marcas, to ensure that all or most vitolas are represented in marcas and that smaller gauge cigars are taken off the endangered species list it would be a great outcome. I would be willing to trust them to come up with a quality regular production catalogue. For this reason I am chosing to give this petition a try. Unfortunately, the alternative is that it is HSA that will decide for me if I continue to support them or not... Cheers Dan
