PigFish Posted July 5, 2012 Posted July 5, 2012 Altadis and Imperial Tobacco don't speak the language of capitalism? Seriously? It's precisely a warped model of capitalism that is responsible for what we reproach to HSA, I don't see the point of an other anti-Castro diatribe in this matter… Not simply anti-Castro mate, sorry you don't get it! Pro reality! Believe that Altadis holds the key? Fine, copy the man's letter and send the letter to them!!! Why not send the letter to them? Because they don't control squat and you know it too. It is the socialist sycophant, protecting this losing ideology that always seeks to prevent a candid discussion of the matter and lay it off on another. I say send the letter to whom is to blame and be candid about what you want as a consumer. You think it is Altadis, send it there. I say skip H SA and send it to Tabacuba... if their email works! If you send the letter to Altadis, I'll bet that they will even respond to it, unlike Cuba! I bet the phone and the internet works there too! -LOL Yeah... they are a bunch of failures over their at Altadis. Their execs are driving rainbow colored '55 Chevys and they must have printed the money and pleaded with Tabacuba to take their $400M. Their catalogue is really limited in scope too! Those Cubans were doing perfectly fine, fattening up their people at $18 bucks a month till those killer capitalists at Altadis got their greedy hands on H SA!!! -LOL Yeah mate.... great argument! Don't blame Castro is always the answer! Blame Altadis. -LOL -the Pig
Montaigut Posted July 5, 2012 Author Posted July 5, 2012 Update as of July 5th, 22h00 hr: 44 signatures FYI The letter will go to the four top hitters in HSA/Altadis, both in Spain and Cuba. Any response will be posted here for you reading pleasure! Cheers Dan

Let's see if some of the boys here can promote it through ICC/HCF/CA. If the cigar community can't arrange 1000 signatures globally then it deserves all the cuts it gets.

Thanks Rob, I am also working to get the petition going on other sites... the more the merrier. We absolutely have to link up with the Guantanamera Lobby Group. I figure if they have managed to keep the marca from discontinuation so far it is because they carry the biggest stick in Cuba!! Cheers mate Dan

SethG Posted July 6, 2012 Posted July 6, 2012 IMHO, this is the core of communism in practice, this is what it means. Cuban cigar culture is old and proud. For more than 400 years it has evolved, changed to meet customer demands and grown, always while remaining true to itself and its history. There is no competition between houses, and if you smoke Cuban's, it all flows to Habanos. There's no doubt that we can shift our money elsewhere, or slow down the spend, but if Habanos believed that, would communism be running the show? If there were different brands, undoubtedly a smaller house would produce the off beat cigars we want, but it's not so. Personally, I think it's time to admit that this all part of the system they produce cigars under and "oh well."
Bunner Posted July 6, 2012 Posted July 6, 2012 I signed it but really how much weight does an online petition have?
Montaigut Posted July 6, 2012 Author Posted July 6, 2012 I signed it but really how much weight does an online petition have? Only one way to find out mate! But I can tell you one thing: 100 signatures or won't cut it...
