cckandb24 Posted May 21, 2012 Posted May 21, 2012 This stick is from a July "11 box. Stick almost has a Maduro wrapper with a lot of oils. Only my second D4 that I have had. I started my CC experiences with a lot of the lesser known Marcas and vitolas and am now circling around to the big dogs. Pre light aroma is of leather and spice. Lips tingle a bit trying the draw out which is perfect. Let's get it started in here. First 1/3 Initial blast is a spice bomb that annihilates my goings and throat, I won't even attempt a retro hale at this Point. There is a distinct woodiness that I would describe as an oaky characteristics. There is a long sweet finish that lingers on the palate. Salt and pepper ash that holds on for well over an inch before I flip it off. Burn is a bit wonky Second 1/3 Spice subsides into the second third and that woodiness is still present with leather Reminds me of party shorts and the thread awhile back about licking a fine leather sofa. I try the retro hale now that I think it's safe and I'm blinded by tears from the spice in the nose. Third 1/3 At this point the smoke has petered out on me. Smooth but no where near the powerhouse that it was in its beginning. Still on course with the leather and woodiness. Some bakers chocolate on the finish. You can just tell overall that this smoke contains some of the finest tobacco that Cuba has to offer. All of my 2011 stock has been just superb with tremendously dark and oily wrapper and the construction has been the best to me out of the last 3 years stocks I have been smoking from. This stick is from a 10 pack so a 25 box is atop my list with the psp2 which I have yet to have Final score 93 Total smoke time was just under 1 hour
