You know, when that cigar is just "on".

Maybe an old favourite that blows you away in a surprising way, or a cigar you didn't think you liked that surprised you?

I had a Cohiba Robusto last night that blew my doors off. I like a good CoRo as much as the next guy, but I've never understood the people who rave about them. Well, if they were all as great as the one last night I'd buy them like crazy.

What's the last cigar that was really "on" for you?

RASS from the first box of ccs I bought two summers ago. It's a jul 09 box (i think) and these few years have done amazing things. I just wish I hadn't plowed through all but 4 cigars in a short time.

It was a perfect cigar.

ERDM CS. Unfortunately only a handful out of an entire box will have that profile. Just how it is with that stick.

has to be an Epi 2 from a box I'm currently smoking. IMHO, these are generally consistently good - this box has been no exception. Call it kismet, call it the environment, whatever, this one was ON. it was a few weeks ago, and it just reminded me how good a cuban cigar can be. It was a very enjoyable experience.

I received a small sampler of HU Sir Winnies not too long ago. The first one I had was absolute heaven on earth. The rest, while still darn good, just didn't hit that previous mark.

I wonder if first time experiences with certain cigars leave anyone else always trying to find, with somewhat disappointing results, the same nirvana when smoking others?

My most consistent "ON" cigar has been the Mag 46's. Some are great, all have been really good.

Had a NOV 11 Upmann 2 last night that was incredible. I was shocked it was this enjoyable so young.

I've had two from a box from JUL 11 (I think, id have to check the month) that have been nothing short of perfect.

PSD4 2011 from the Czar, everything it was supposed to be and more considering its a young cigar / add some age and

A HdM Epicure no. 1 that I received from Rob last month. So good and so relaxing that I immediately ordered a box from him which, coincidence, arrived this morning!

For me it's been my buddy's erdm cs from 09, all consistently good though not one of my favorites.

Also, 08 cce from EL always hit the mark and they're just getting better.

Recently I had a fantastic SCDLH Mercaderes that was head and shoulders above the previous ones from that same 2007 box.

My first ever Upmann Royal Robusto was a contender for the best smoke of the year to date.

Monte no 1.....proper good monte flavours.....excellent...from May 10.

Monte Petit Edmundos from an 08 box. Smoked 3 in the past couple weeks, and all were excellent. Wood, cocoa & cream. Haven't had a dud from the box yet and I'm over halfway through.

Can only hope the 06 10 cts boxes will be as good.

Upmann 2s are also contenders. Haven't had any from my 2011 box yet, but my 09s have been stellar.

2010 RASS also should get honorable mention. Very nice smokes that inspired a cab purchase.

The Cohiba 1966 are smoking excellent right now. I have smoked one from the same box each month this year. They have improved every time.
