El Presidente Posted November 29, 2005 Posted November 29, 2005 Quietly behind the scenes Habanos s.a has been buying back from distributors 50% or thereabouts of it's overseas Habanos licences. Every few months it appears another one falls to the persuasive Habanos s.a line. I can see a period of greater contol which isn't particularly a bad thing given how fast and loose some distributors have been. Can't say too much ;-)
thschrminm Posted November 29, 2005 Posted November 29, 2005 WOW... Definitely a good thing in my opinion but @bout 50% of it's licenses sounds like alot!!! I better make sure my local ice cream man still has his...
Bunker1028 Posted November 29, 2005 Posted November 29, 2005 Interesting. Greater control might also mean reduced supply, driving demand, and therefore prices, higher. Time will tell.
Bernard Posted November 29, 2005 Posted November 29, 2005 The South African distribution is changing at the end of the year. The previous distibutor was hopeless, no support, nothing. Not even a drink for all the South Africans at the Festival this year! Hopefully somebody passionate will take over. One can only wonder what is going on behind the scenes.
ironman Posted November 29, 2005 Posted November 29, 2005 Very interesting indeed...I wonder what there plan or motivation is? I hope not just money!!! Ironman
thschrminm Posted November 29, 2005 Posted November 29, 2005 I hope that there motivation would be to clean up the gray market for the Habanos distribution schemes...
