Bourbon Posted February 14, 2012 Posted February 14, 2012 Nicely done. I have stuff in my humidor that doesn't look that good!
coblos Posted October 18, 2012 Posted October 18, 2012 BUMP! Where is Krs? Curious to know if you ever smoked any of these and if so what were they like?
David67 Posted October 19, 2012 Posted October 19, 2012 That is really cool! Looks like you have done a very nice job. If you ever want someone to try one contact me:)
markyeo Posted July 3, 2013 Posted July 3, 2013 Those are great looking sticks buddy. I am growing some Havana myself too. Just a week after sowing and little sproutlings are everywhere. Hope everything turns out well here in Malaysia. Just a quick question on your cigar mold. Where did u get it? I really need one.
Fuzz Posted July 3, 2013 Posted July 3, 2013 You can get them off eBay. The tuck cutter is a bit harder to source. I know of one place that sell it online, but it's about $200 USD. Sometimes old ones pop up on eBay. I've heard of people using a pair of garden shears in a pinch.
markyeo Posted July 3, 2013 Posted July 3, 2013 Saw quite a few on eBay but most are used molds. Problem is getting it shipped over here is expensive. Thanks for the heads up, how are your DIY cigars coming up?
AndrewNR Posted July 3, 2013 Posted July 3, 2013 Looks awesome mate, I've always been tempted! Tell me about curing the leaves please? Spill all! I'm wondering if this will be my next project..

markyeo Posted July 3, 2013 Posted July 3, 2013 Don't forget you may get hit up by MAQIS for bringing in a wood product. Sorry but what is MAQIS? If not mistaken, it's should be alright bringing in a wood product into malaysia still..
Fuzz Posted July 3, 2013 Posted July 3, 2013 MAQIS - Malaysian Quarantine and Inspection Service. As I do a lot of business in Malaysia, the following is from a notification I got a few years ago on the import restrictions for Malaysia (may have changed): Malaysia Import Restrictions Import restrictions Malaysia requires an import permit for many goods. Before posting any item, senders should confirm that the addressee has any necessary permit. Senders should determine import restrictions from Malaysian authorities before posting: Animals, live Firearms and firearm parts Fruit and nuts Goods originating from Israel (documents are not restricted) Hypodermic syringes Medicines Milk products Plants and parts of plants Seeds and grain Vegetables for consumption Special documentation British-made goods require a Certificate of Origin. Prohibitions In addition to items prohibited by Dangerous and Prohibited Goods & Packaging Post Guide and ECI International Courier Regulations, Malaysia prohibits: Advertising material on lucky charms Animals and animal products Coins exceeding $M50 in value, except purely for ornament Cotton Copyright infringements Daggers Electric machinery Flick knives Fertilizers Firearms and parts thereof Glass and glassware Government Service markings, imitation Headgear and parts thereof Lottery tickets Obscene or seditious articles Pornography Photographic, cinematographic instruments and parts thereof Products of the printing industry- offensive by nature Plastics and articles thereof Pearls, precious stones and metals Some textile products Spear guns Spirits and liqueurs Toys, games and sports requirements Trademark infringements. Wood and articles of wood
markyeo Posted July 3, 2013 Posted July 3, 2013 yup, these restrictions are still enforced in malaysia. i might need to apply for a license to collect it at the customs. thanks for the heads up !
Jeremy Festa Posted July 3, 2013 Posted July 3, 2013 I think it's time to change the title of this thread from "attempt to roll my own" to "This is how I roll!" ;-) Top work!
stargazer14 Posted July 3, 2013 Posted July 3, 2013 So how did these end up smoking? I have a few old molds myself and some tobacco, the hard part is fermenting and curing the stuff, THAT is an art also. I'd like to hear your method.
