I've been drinking Jim Beam Devil's Cut. I have to tell you that I'm enjoying this drink straight. It's very smooth.

About Devil's cut from the Jim Beam web page:

As bourbon ages, a portion of the liquid is lost from the barrel due to evaporation—that's the "Angel's Share." After aging, when the bourbon is dumped out of the barrel, a certain amount of whiskey is left trapped within the wood of every barrel. We call that the "devil's cut."

To create Jim Beam® Devil's Cut™, an extraordinary new bourbon experience, we developed a proprietary process that actually pulls the rich whiskey trapped inside the barrels' wood after they're emptied. We hold this barrel-treated extract until it develops the proper balance of bourbon notes, then blend it with 6 year old bourbon and bottle at 90 proof. The result: a robust, premium bourbon with deep color, aroma and character.

Went to LCBO Summerhill today for sample heaven. Had some free samples of a Islay and Highland that weren't that memorable.

Tried the ***** 12 and the GlenFiddich 21 again. The ***** was quite good.

Finished the tour with a free sample of some south of france Sauvignon Blanc and Malbec. They were ok. The free crabcakes, onion tart with duck confit and beef tenderloin were fantastic.

The wife is making margarita martinis tonight. Patron silver with. 3 different types of orange liqueur, fresh squeezed lime juice. Into a martinis shaker with ice.. Served straight up in a sugar rimmed martini glass. Nectar of the gods. Goes great with my Cohiba Robusto.

Red Diamond Cabernet Sauvignon 2009. Excellent rich, bold wine very reminiscent of a well aged Barolo. :ok:

tried some Jack Daniel's Honey tonight as well. You can really taste the honey in this. I think you can only have a couple of these before it becomes overwhelming. I think of it as the bud light lime symdrome.

A friend turned me on to Genteman Jack over the weekend. Since I don't usually like whiskey I was surprised at how smooth it is. No heat to speak of. Some pretty strong fruity notes.
