edlye Posted February 12, 2012 Posted February 12, 2012 Had a mix of Bacardi Blanco rum with Coke, it tasted horrible. Washed away the unpleasant aftertaste with some Havana Club Añejo 7 Años rum followed by JW Double Black.

Lotusguy Posted February 25, 2012 Posted February 25, 2012 celebrated my 21st birthday a week early with this Very nice and happy birthday!!! Stock up now... as you get older, buying Scotch from your birth year will only get more expensive I just bought another 1971 Single Malt to tide me over the next few years - ouch!

[/quoteya this was a gift /3 way split with two of my friends we drank almost all of bottle last night but to be honest this is good but not worth the price... glenlivet has much better scotches for less money like the nadura of the 15 year old french oak reserve but i can now say that i have had a drink that was older then me
Rushman Posted February 25, 2012 Posted February 25, 2012 Although I'm currently drinking nectar de durazno, my preferred scotches are independent bottlings from the likes of cadenhead and others. Lately my go to cigar scotch has been bruichladdich. I started drinking bruichladdich about 8 years ago as their sqauatty bottle fit nicely in my cigar locker at my local B&M. --- I am here: http://maps.google.com/maps?ll=20.629989,-87.069651
edlye Posted February 26, 2012 Posted February 26, 2012 Dalwhinnie 15 Year Old. A great value single malt for the daily dram. It is a balanced dram but sometimes underwhelming, so I just add a little Talisker 10 in the mix and all is well.
BatFastard Posted February 27, 2012 Posted February 27, 2012 A Cuba Libre using Flor de Cana 7 yr (don't really drink a lot of white rums). Makes for a perfect Sunday afternoon pre dinner drink!
edlye Posted March 13, 2012 Posted March 13, 2012 Noticed that this thread has gone cold again. Having a few drams of Laphroaig 18 YO, loving it!
Duane Posted March 13, 2012 Posted March 13, 2012 just had some johnnie black label been awhile, seems the taste has changed maybe demand has outstruck supply and they are mixing more grain whisky with it to make it stretch further.
Hopperb Posted March 15, 2012 Posted March 15, 2012 Just poured a few fingers of Sailor Jerry's Spiced Rum, it's OK not great but I'm more of a bourbon guy so I'll have to work my way into the rum
Lotusguy Posted March 16, 2012 Posted March 16, 2012 I went on a Balvenie buying binge - 21Y Portwood, 17Y Peated Cask, and 14Y Cuban Cask in the mail. Along with Old Pulteney 21 and I just picked up Jameson 18. Need to try all of these now
thechenman Posted March 16, 2012 Posted March 16, 2012 Just poured a few fingers of Sailor Jerry's Spiced Rum, it's OK not great but I'm more of a bourbon guy so I'll have to work my way into the rum Sailor Jerry works better as a mixer...
