I am sure it will be a great show.

The Cigar Society has a tradition of longwinded speeches, suits, and legthy discussions of whether the flavour charachteristics of the Partagas 898 is more burn't caramel than sweet espresso.

This was certainly the case under Alexanders and then Sweedish Match. Hopefully Wal can change direction of the CS so that it drops the pretentious bullshit and engages real people regardless of what they do or where they come from.

Cigars are not the main event. People are. It is about catching up with old friends and making new ones. It is a celeration of life....a cross of a T and a dot of an i.

I sincerely wish the CS a great event and a bright future. Wal is the best hope they have.

End of rant. ;-)

the age profile is changing prez and now there are 20 somethings through to 60 somethings. they still have a bit of a chat about each cigar and its flavour profile. it is a formal affair and i like suiting up, although summer is no time for a suit. at the christmas dinner last year there was 120 and im sure there will be more this time.
