aushy Posted January 19, 2015 Posted January 19, 2015 This is what I use....and it is the BEST cutter out there, IMHO. Lifetime replacement guarantee, perfect cut every time....best $15 you'll spend.... http://www.cubancrafters.com/cuban-crafters-perfect-cigar-cutters-cuts-the-exact-amount-off-all-ring-sizes/ I was reading the product description and this line peaked my interest.. "The self-sharpening double blades are made with surgical grade stainless steel and cut cigar ring gauges of up 54." How can blades be shelf sharpening?!

JohnS Posted January 20, 2015 Posted January 20, 2015 How can blades be shelf sharpening?! Sounds too good to be true when the product costs $14.99. With cigar cutters, I go by the tried and tested saying that 'you get what you pay for'.

With cigar cutters, I go by the tried and tested saying that 'you get what you pay for'. I was skeptical too...until I got it and started using it. And with a lifetime replacement guarantee, it's hard to go wrong. I have no idea how the self sharpening works...but it does.
wabashcr Posted January 20, 2015 Posted January 20, 2015 I go with a generic double guillotine style cutter from the B&M. Not the bottom line $3 cutter, but the slightly less **** $9 model. Larger than 50 or so I usually punch.
CUBANO Posted January 21, 2015 Posted January 21, 2015 Lately I have been using a Credo 3-1 punch cutter and it's very sharp and the three sizes are ideal from panatelas to double coronas

rodrigodeanda Posted January 22, 2015 Posted January 22, 2015 I have two guillotine cutters, a punch and a V cutter but I find myself cutting my cigars more often with a punch cutter, only if I find the draw too tight I use one of the guillotine. I remember using the V cutter just a couple of times and it's bee a while since I've used it at all
maxcjs0101 Posted January 23, 2015 Posted January 23, 2015 I prefer the punch than other cutters because i dont like having any tobacco pieces in my mouth.
JL9389 Posted January 23, 2015 Posted January 23, 2015 Xikar Xi1 sometimes a punch sometimes my knife. just depends where i am and what else i'm doing!
DropTopDee Posted January 24, 2015 Posted January 24, 2015 Palio cutter for the win. i do use scissors at home sometimes and looking for a good punch
Borgy Posted March 6, 2015 Posted March 6, 2015 I use a cutter (Not sure of the brand ) I also have punch I made from a 38 special its perfect size.I have about 4 differant other Cals as well.I dont wish to sound like a redneck but they work so well.
RijkdeGooier Posted March 6, 2015 Posted March 6, 2015 If have moved away from all the cutters/punches. These days it's just a good sharp knife with a cutter for Torpedoes
Scroats Posted March 6, 2015 Posted March 6, 2015 This is a great old thread. I'm going to see what kind of brass I have, maybe make a set on a chain. If I like it I can see taking a zinced 380 casing to add to the key chain. The cutter that has not let me down has been the seat belt blade on the Victorinox one hand fireman. Mildly serrated and rarely used for anything else, it's one of my favorite ways to cut, especially torpedoes. It needs a sharpen, the back edge is flat, I'm hoping I won't mess this up. 1
Quint Posted March 6, 2015 Posted March 6, 2015 I like guillotine cutter because it's a larger opening and doesn't affect the draw. I found that using the bullet you get a build up of nicotine, or something, at the draw end and starts to ruin the natural flavor profile. Just my opinion and I haven't done any extensive experiment or anything, base on a few experiences.
TiminBC Posted March 6, 2015 Posted March 6, 2015 First choice machete . second a cutter. I always carry a punch on my key chain as backup
Borgy Posted March 6, 2015 Posted March 6, 2015 What makes your cases as sharp as razor I use the Lyman case prep and it keeps them sharp.
KRunch61 Posted March 7, 2015 Posted March 7, 2015 No complaints with my Xikar cutter; however, the Xikar lighter, well... 2
AlBaron Posted March 8, 2015 Posted March 8, 2015 another vote for the Cuban Crafters Perfect cutter 1
skalls Posted April 13, 2015 Posted April 13, 2015 99% of the time i use a cuban crafters guillotine cutter. When there's a really small cap than I'll use a punch.
