No complaints with my Xikar cutter; however, the Xikar lighter, well...

Guillotine!!! Maybe because I'm French ?

Missing an option for "multiple" - I use scissors at home, and a guilloutine cutter (Palio or Xikar Ti) or a punch (Xikar) when away, depending on the cigar.

well, I can't be the only one who sometimes uses a v-cut, can I? Often I will start a box pressed or larger ring cigar with the v, and sometimes I will open it up later on if it needs it with a xikar.

I have several Cuban Crafter products and have had problems with quality. I have a perfecto and the blades come out of the housing every time I use it. I agree the concept is awesome, the craftsmanship is lacking.

I would send it back, the perfecto has a lifetime replacement policy. I have yet to have a problem with the two i own.

I use a new drywall blade and cut a cateye cut...

Adds to the "a mano" experence..

As long as the type of cigar is appropriate, I tend to use a punch. I find it gives the cleanest cut and focuses the flavour best.

Sometimes I use the V-Cut twice to make an "X"

When I first started into cigars in the 90's, I started with punch cutters, and even with the V-groove single-blade guillotines. But, after I got away from cigars for a few years, and then got back into them in 2005 or so, I've moved from punch cutters again at the start, to strictly Xikars. I enjoy the double-bladed guillotine of the Xikars, and the design and materials are top notch. I've got 4 or 5 of them, some that do indeed need to be shipped to Xikar for sharpening now, but they've always been flawless for me.

Beautiful, simple, utilitarian pieces, that are still eye-catching.

I've always used guillotine but this past weekend I tried a punch cutter and I liked it. I think I'll try it more often and see what difference in makes. I would like to get a nice pair of scissors eventually.

What does everyone recommend for a good pair of scissors?

I use the Lotus guillotine / punch combo. I normally prefer the guillotine, but there are some cigars I punch occasionally. So, I like the versatility of the is cutter

I prefer a punch for everything save small ring gauges, where it's not really an option.

For the cleanest cut: Donatus 1155/01

Looks tricky as if taken from an OR room but it's fantastic tool

I got one and I'm not going to recommend it.

I voted other. I use a Xikar Xi cutter for everything up to 54 RG. Over that I prefer to do a double punch. If I cut a large RG it seems the draw is too loose. This obviously only relates to my NC sticks.
