Thanks for putting together the poll Reed. Good job! I am in. For me it would be an afternoon, early evening thing but count me in. Thanks again. Look forward to it...btw do you know how much the cutting fees are? It would be worth it, to me, to bring my (our) own perhaps.

The cutting fee at Macanudo is 10 dollars. If that is per cigar I do not know. Not 100% sure if there is one at Merchant's, but I do believe there is a minimum purchase. Macanudo has a 20 dollar minimum purchase.

If you are looking for a location uptown on the Eastside, might I suggest The Perfect Pint II. They serve food and drink and allow smoking on their rooftop deck. It isn't as comfortable as a lounge and of course you are exposed to the elements, so no rain is a requirement. However, there is not purhcase minimum or cutting fee. And you don't have to travel anywhere if you want a casual bit to eat.

The Perfect Pint

I markled yes to be interested and yes to the date while selecting the afternoon for the time. But thinking on this now, it is dependent on my son's football game schedule which hasn't been released yet. Therefore, I can't confirm until closer to the date. That said...I'm always interested in a gathering of FoH BOTLs in NYC.

Thanks for working to put this together ReedJames.

Thanks for the info! That place looks pretty good. I like the idea of meeting at a restaurant. Do you know if they take reservations for their deck? If only you could see the weather months in advance. :daydream:

I know some people from Montreal are interested in possibly road tripping it if we get enough people. And I have some friends that I've met that are cigar smokers in NYC that I'm sure would be interested.

I think we can make this happen. It's just choosing the right venue and getting enough people.

No problem with being new, RandomHero. Everyone is invited!

Knowing how Dave and Mike roll, renting the deck will be the way to go...

btw, Dave, just noticed your update of your profile. We should talk comic books sometime. I don't really buy new stuff but I still have my collection from the 80s, and pick up the occasional graphic novel.

Thanks for trying to set this up ReedJames. Look forward to meeting up.

Alright. I'll email them and see how much it will be to rent the whole deck.

Which location would be better? The one near Times Square?

I'm new here, but I'd be interested. Coming up from Philly isn't a big deal.

I'd prefer late afternoon or evening, though.

I believe Merchants (by the Queensboro Bridge) has been closed and a new restaurant (non-smoking) has been established.

I could be wrong, but I drive by this area almost everyday!!

I've been told they sold the upstairs and now they only have the downstairs where you can still smoke.

Ok, I've heard the smoking area of the Perfect Pint isn't that large, so do we have anybody this is perhaps a member at Club Macanudo that could help organize a place for us to smoke there?

If Not I could talk about renting the back lounge of Cigar Inn, though I am not a member there but I do know the owners decently well and am a regular there.

I'd like to have a finalized time, date, and location by the end of August, so please ask around and we can figure this out.
