My summer planned trip to Cuba was scuppered so I did the next best thing... a whisky buying trip/tour of Scotland! Had a great week with a mix of rain and glorious sunshine. Some great pick ups too -

Blanton's gold US release

Pumpking is my absolute favorite beer. Great stuff.

I wish they came in 4 or 6 pack bottles. I'm lucky to get a sip of them, my wife drinks them so fast I barely see them. Gonna have to start hiding one somewhere.

Love paying a visit to the smaller independent wine shops and cellars - you never know what you'll find:

- A couple of bottles of the 1998 Wynns "Black Label" Cabernet Sauvignon
- Three bottles of the 1999 Mount Langi Ghiran Langi Shiraz

- A bottle of the 1994 Parker Terra Rossa First Growth cabernet blend
- A bottle of the 1998 Devil's Lair Margaret River cabernet
- A couple of bottles of the 2006 Studley Park Cabernet
- A couple of bottles of the 2013 Bass Phillip "Estate" Pinot Noir

A side trip to the local wine merchant who specialises in whisky yielded these:

- A bottle of the Ardbeg Corryvreckan
- A couple of bottles of the Springbank 12 Year Old Burgundy

nice to see some older vintages though surprised. that 98 wynns is a cracker. and 99 mt langi also - trevor mast still the winemaker back then. and bass philip always special.

Indeed. Pre-Rathbone Mt. Langi for $47 a bottle, hard to beat. This bottling has some emotional significance being that it's the very same vintage that my now wife and I had back when we were still cordial friends.

@Webbo   Where did you get the Dictador, and have you tried it yet??

Found it in a local bottleshop in Bratislava and gave it a go last night. It does what it says on the bottle, literally! A real hit of unsweetened coffee but with a really smooth rum surrounding it. Did not expect to like this so much, its definitely a proper rum not a coffee flavoured liqueur, I'm impressed.

Picked these up on my way to a Benromach tasting which was underwhelming (no special releases, just small pours of the core range).
