fokker4me
On vacation I stopped at shell hole of a store. Turned out go.be a honey hole instead. Found some great old dusty stuff at great prices. Jura 10, Jura 16, HP 18, Glen Rothes 1992, and two three packs of Talisker, Caol Ila, Lagavulin 16 in 200 ml bottles.

TM-US
Some recent acquisitions- Two Abraham Bowman releases, including the 400 bottle Virginia only coffee finished (!) Bourbon; a Four Roses single barrel store selection; Buffalo Trace Experimental Collection stave drying time (predecessor to the E.H. Taylor Cured Oak); and Corti Brothers Exquisite Whiskey (7 yr Kentucky bourbon finished in a sweet, dark fortified wine barrel, kind of like Madeira).
TM-US
What happened to the Highland Park bottle? Is that old or new? That's the Highland Park bottle used prior to the squared off bottle used today. Discontinued around 2006.

fokker4me
I picked another old liquor store clean of their old dusties. First a Rum Liquor that is so old it does not have a bar code, a Bushmills Irish Cream (I've never seen this before), a Rittenhouse Rye from dsp-ky-354 which was contract distilled by Brown Foreman after the Heaven Hill fire. These are becoming hard to find as they have changed over a few years ago to dsp-ky-1 distilled production now at their own facility. A 1.75l of JW Don't bib from the old Heaven Hill distillery pure the 1996 fire, and a 1.75l of Dant 80 proof.

sengjc
A 26 year old Japanese whisky from the ***** Yoichi distillery, bottled at cask strength by the Society. This one was matured in virgin oak casks and has an amazingly deep colour.

sengjc
To coin a phrase: "a couple of old dusties..." Couldn't resist because of the remarkably low price-tag.

That's an unusual find. Do you know what the Dunhill Speyside is? Blend or single malt?

The Royal Salute is not at cask strength. It's a blend at 40%. I am not entirely sure on the Dunhill Speyside whether it is a blended malt or a blended Scotch. shlomo
Sorry, no. What are you looking for in a scotch? Maybe I can give some suggestions? I'm a big fan of sherry, and cask strength malts. As a drinker, I know what I like and I buy it, I'm looking to start collecting as well and want to know what the limited releases or more rare bottles might be. As a drinker, I know what I like and I buy it, I'm looking to start collecting as well and want to know what the limited releases or more rare bottles might be. The cask strength part makes it kind of tough. Not so many OB releases at cask strength. You want a limited one? SAQ had a 20 yr Glenfarclas 105. That's a rare bottle, and excellent. 60%, too. If you can do a bit of smoke, the teenage Springbank CS releases are excellent- 16, 17 and 18 yr. Macallan CS, only a 10 yr, but highly collectible now. Glendronach single cask releases- expensive, but very good. The 20+ yr ones tend to be very oaky, though. For non-CS sherry bombs, I like Glengoyne 21, Mortlach, Glendronach 15. Can you do mail order into Canada? That makes it very challenging, if you're stuck with SAQ and trips to the States.

SAQ and trips to the LCBO in Ontario or trips ot the US are the best chances. Please keep the suggestions coming! Like I said, looking for rare or limited, or collectable! Thanks!~
Pixa
I don't know why, it's a shame. We don't get some cool stuff that British members get, either. I have a way around that one, though. It's because it is not bottled in country of production. Apparently this makes it not able to be sold in USA
